Hi guys....its been a long time since i updated this thread, but i've been busy building another crawler. Have a look here...

My NEW G-Made R1

Now that this new project is ready i went back to the scx10 to see what to invent. Disco body still not finished but i started a new project....

started chopping off my hpi d90....the green one that had the soft top, and i'm doing a load bed for it. Plan is to fabricate a new windshield and make it permanently flipped down over the bonnet. When ready i have to paint it from the outside now so i'll lose most of the decals. But i'm doing new light lenses for the rear and i'll mask the front end.

here are a couple of pics of it and an update of the discovery...

My D90 build has been 'paused' for a while now, and I never post here these days due to not having the time since getting a 1:1 90! I occasionally get a notification email, this I just had to post on, that disco is a work of art!

did some more progress on the d90....now its already feeling like a hardbody with all the glue and styrene. Now working on the front bulkhead where there is the windshield support.

masked all up and painted the styrene interior only for now to see if colour matches up. Still loads of stuff to do on this like folded down windshield, seats, plastic glass lenses to replace decals and not sure but i might add a driver too. Might also have a go at trying to build a dash for it. Then when ready i'll paint it all even over the lexan.

Managed to do some more work on the D90 body....fabricated a new rear cross member, door hinges, cut out the door handles and made a new windshield. I changed my mind on the flipped down idea...i think looks better like this....

I think i managed to save most of the hpi decals....removed them slowly and now i'm hoping they will still stick on again when i'm finished.

I like how both turned out. Wish I had some time and patience to do all of that work. Great Job!

That came out awesome! Hard to believe that's an HPI body. The door handles look great, as do the lenses and the light guards.
Me thinks you need a rollbar.
