OK thanks Ty. I've looked at your JK build and I'll have to take another look at it. I will be running a bumper mounted winch so shouldn't have a problem there.

I couldn't stand gluing up a set of wheels and tires, luckily these showed up in the mail today.

Got all electronics installed and wired up. Couldn't believe how small the FXR is. I have used mostly Novak products in the past but heard only good things about the Tekin FXR so decided to give it a try. Plus I'm supporting an Idaho based company. Good to support a local company. Also got my winch installed. Now I just need to pick up a winch controller.

Wouldn't hesitate on getting one from all I've read about it. Pretty much the standard for brushed motors it seems.

Well thanks. I can't stand a messy wiring job. I've been keeping an eye on your build as well.

I plan on running a Vanquish LED bar with my SCX10. How would you recommend I wire this up?

My thought were to solder a female deans to the end of the light bar and then use a 'Y' deans harness to connect the battery and light bar to the ESC. Something like this below.

I honestly don't know. I've never wired up a set of lights before. May want to ask this question in the electronics forum.

I have used VP light bars with a HeyOK (HV/LV) controllers. I suppose as long as you connect the red and black wires accordingly, you should be ok.

OK so I'm currently installing the beadlocks on my tires, the stock Trepadors. So many screws!!!!!!!!! Anyway I've always vented my rims but I'm thinking I won't this time because I hate drying out foams after any water and I don't want to vent the tires themselves. Any pros and cons? Are my tires gonna be too bouncy? Guess I'll try it and see if I like it. I'm mainly going to be doing trails and rocks. No mud.

All I can say is I don't vent my tires either.

While it is a PITA to drain and dry tires, allowing them to breath does allow the foam to work better, especially if you are running dual stage foams. Also, water may still eventually get in and rot the foams if there is no way to drain. I wouldn't worry about it if you are running stock foams though.

Yeah just running stock foams for now. I don't intentionally try to find water but won't shy away from it either. I'll try them not vented and see how they work.

The Trepadors are good tires. I think you'll find out they'll do just fine not vented.

I've heard pros and cons on the Treps but for my purposes I think they'll work just fine. They are a great looking scale tire.

I've heard that the treps like a heavy truck because of the stiff sidewalls. Some with lighter rigs actually run them without foams, though I'd recommend against that. Whatever works though

I just acquired a set from an rtr that I'm going to experiment with on my bronco.

Let's see em' mounted up

I agree. A great looking scale tire. Although a little narrow/thin for me.

I ran them on my Jeep Wrangler Rubicon, but this rig was heavy and the tires didn't do as well on soft stuff because the narrow width didn't provide enough floatation. So I switched for this reason and because I like big fat looking tires.

Man, that's a sick looking jeep I personally like it with the treps more than with the swampers. Swampers are awesome tires though.

Let's see those treps on the proline beadlocks!
