I worked on the interior today. It was not as big of a deal as I was initially concerned it would be.

I used some Spacers from Screw Loose under the pan, this game me most of the clearance I needed. There was one spot where I needed to cut a little away from the interior though. I also swapped out the other trans case because I needed to cut down the backing plate. This means I cannot run a spur cover but no big deal. I will also have to monitor the size of the spur gear I use in the end.

I love that you are doing all the work for me before I have the time to attempt this myself. Thanks. "thumsbup" Looks great... and I love those PB tires on there. Might run those instead of my Compass tires.

My new Compass tires came in Friday, as well as the VP 8 Hole wheels. However, I got a call from Vaterra and I'll have an Ascender here on Monday so I think that setup may be more fitting for the K5.

I thought you ordered Gladiators? The Compass(Toyo MT) are bigger than the Gladiators(Nitto Trail Grapplers).

At least bolt them up to this rig, gives me an idea if I should save for them wheels.

lookin good, i just got done mocking up and trimming my wraith cage to fit the scx chassis. Im running a set of bpc sliders, not sure if im going to keep them but they seem to fit well, im running an r2 trans so i wont be able to fit an interior but im not too worried. still have to adjust the length of the links a little. heres what i have so far.

I just (almost) finished one of these builds myself lol...only a little different. I used the scx frame rails on the wraith skid. Had to do some bending but it let me lower the ride height alot. the scx shocks dont allow nearly as much suspension travel as i like so i think i might have to throw some 100mm's on it. Even though its riding lower than yours, it still seems top heavy compared to my regular old honcho. I need some droop. I used the scx shock hoops up front and the wraith mounts in the back.
Mine is not hinged but bolted directly to the frame. I do like the hinge idea though. I had to fab some mounts for the front cage to frame mount but the rear portion is directly bolted to the frame via some spacers. I will try to get some pics up soon if anyone is interested.
Sorry, not hijacking your thread, just found it and wanted to share. I thought i was the only one building a C2 legal wraith.

I built a Wroncho that way, but again that wide Wraith skid on this type of truck just wasn't what I was looking for. When crawling it definitely drags around a lot. Seems that bolting the SCX rails to the outside of a Wraith skid would make the shock mounts really wide too. Interesting take on it.

Thats where the bending comes in. At both ends, the frame is at scx width. I thought it looked easier to mount the interior with the wraith skid vs. the scx skid because of the transmission location. Might not have made a difference, but just eyeballing it, it looked like the better route.

In the last picture, (looking down on the rear axle and your hinge mount) couldn't you have just removed the "corners" of the piece you removed and inserted rod-end screws in there, tucked it between the frame rails, and secured it with nylocks? Or was this an easier, more aesthetically pleasing way to do it? Or, is that just what you wanted to do?

It's just a quick mock up. Gonna do a complete tare down this weekend, then start reassembly. Really looking forward to getting this thing going. Not sure whether I wanna go brushless or not tho. Also Does anyone know the best place to get individual wraith chassis parts, stock or aluminum..
