Building my exact Replica of my Jeep Wrangler

first of all, sorry if this is not the lace to post and ask this questions...

Here i go

I have a Jeep Wrangler in Brazil, and i would like to build a very close exact replica of it.

Im looking to buy the Rubicon model of SCX-10 #AX90028, and then go look for the parts that are exact that i have on my jeep, or the closest that look alike.

Id like to know what will be the best to do, if i have to upgrade something else to, like a strongest engine...i dunno...

2.2s are going to look really big compared to scale with your 1:1 rig. The only difference between the shocks is the length. 100mm vs 110mm.

Hmm ok.

I know my setup in inches on my jeep. I dunno if its possible to convert the exact numbers to thr 1:10 replica, like:

17" wheels
37" tires
3"-5" shocks

Wheels are in inches as well. A 2.2 is 2.2 inches and rough works out to be a 22 inch wheel (if body is true 1/10 scale) a 1.9 is 19 inch and so on

Nice looking Jeep!

I bought some 1.9 beadlock wheels off ebay that look identical to those. They were around $50 US and came from China but they are really nice looking and the tires mount up very easily. The seller was *** The sellers name has been removed and replaced with this text. RCC does not condone promoting CHINA knockoffs of an RCC Vendors product on eBay, Amazon or anywhere! *** or something like that. Took a little over a week to get them. The stock tires in that kit are glued on but there are ways to safely remove them. Knight Customs has a lot of cool printed parts like snorkel, door handles, hinges, etc and you can buy that stuff on RPP Hobby or on Shapeways.

Performance wise, there are tons of threads here that will give you good info regarding mods that are "needed". The ESC that comes with that RTR is pretty good but you probably want to grab a Castle Link to tune it. Quite a few different choices for motors. I run Tekin or Holmes Hobbies motors and I'm happy with them.

I don't think the AE-5 is compatible with the Castle Link.

I would go with Holmes Hobbies TorqueMaster series ESCs and motors. Great products!

The Axial JK is a lil bit longer and wider than actual scale (wheelbase is 12.3 which would be 123" if scaled up and the Jk has a 116" wheelbase)

The ae5 is not compatible with castle link but the Ae2 is. That rtr comes with the ae2.

The proportions aren't exactly in line with the 1:1 version so you will get a different scale depending what measurement you use as the basis.

Example:
1:1 wheelbase = 116 in
SCX10 wheelbase = 12.3 in
Scale ~ 1:9

1:1 width = 73.7 in
SCX10 width = 9 in
Scale ~ 1:8

I would call it about 1:9 scale so your equipment would spec out

17" wheels = 1.9 wheel (stock SCX10 size and most common)
37" tires ~ 4.1 inch tire (Many good options around this size)

Axial makes replicas of the Maxxis tires from your full size version in 1.9 but they would scale to about a 42 inch tire. So you have the option of either matching tread or size but not both (unless you are very handy with scissors and glue).

I saw also, that to look very similar, im gonna need a HARD BODY, right? id have to look a verry look alike mine...


Also, im gonna play with it, i don know if the original SCX-10 is strong, resistent and powefull enough to play climbing rocks and running a lit bit.
I think i will have to upgrade engine, flex suspension, and things like that, right?

The Vanquish Method 105 is perfect, the Trepadors with the RTR JK are the right tire and those fender flares Kookie posted look great as well. Most of the other scale bits you can find or make, that's part of the fun about this hobby!

You don't need a hardbody for it to be a good replica, just be aware that if you do go that route it's expensive and lots more custom work, like the fenders will not be a direct bolt-on. The SCX10 is very capable out of the box, if you aren't slamming it down 20' cliffs then you shouldn't break much. A good start to upgrades is definitely knuckles, c-hubs and a set of universals or VVD/VDI/CVD axle shafts. You'll also want a metal drag link and tie-rod setup, stock is really flexible plastic. That will get you more steering and a good start to beefing up the important parts.

About the Performance...

I saw something about the rotors, ESC and some parts that i didnt understand (AE-5, AE-2) i think is a esc or rotor right?
Will have to learn and look about it, to know what i will have to do...
Do you indicate any thread that i can look into it?



I used to have eletric rc. Traxxas jatto, drone, airplanea and things like it.

But every year and brand have so many new things...

And Axial looks that have some new things that i need to learn and understand, before i start buying....


What axial wrangler i gonna need to buyit? I saw that have abour 3 differents types, right?
