2600 kv, i think. p sure i read that kv is roughly the turn size x 200 (double the turns and add a couple zeros)

Nope. kv increases as turns decreases (all other factors held constant). Also there are other variables that affect kv that a universal turn-kv relation is not possible.

yeah idk, just read it somewhere. on these forums i think. they are definitely "roughly" comparable, depending on where you look anyway. the chart that comes to mind is from holmes' motor recommendation guide, though i couldn't tell you how i got it in my head that kv is roughly the turn size x 200

Here is a video I did for a climb test. This is after I adjusted the mesh. Listen and tell me if this is normal.

Sounds about right, there's a lot of steel gears in a metal case, gonna make some noise.

Has anybody stuffed one of these transmissions in a TF2?

Yes sir.

Used the RC4WD R4 mounts and a skid made from sheet metal. Really nice flat belly too.

Awesome! I didn't realize yours was an SSD.

Does the t-case have overdrive to the front axle like the GCM?

The T-case doesn’t have overdrive nor can you swap the case to change which side is the output.

However, the SSD’s t-case is flatter, and the output shafts are inline, where the GCM has a drop.

The drop is an advantage when the GCM trans in one of their chassis, but when putting the GCM into a scx10 or TF2 chassis, it raises the trans up a bit and the t-case has to sit on a little mount.

While you do give up overdrive and are locked into left hand output, it’s easier to fit the SSD into A TF2.

I have both transmissions here if ya need to se pics.

Can anyone at SSD tell me when these will be in stock again?
They seem to be out of stock almost everywhere.

Perhaps a new version is in the works?

From what I have read this may be a silly question, but....

Will an 8th scale motor fit? say a 4268?

trying to find a way to get one into an SCX10

I just bought the scale trans last month, so that pretty much guarentees that a new model will be coming out.

No there isn't a new model coming out. We just ran out this week as Amain took the last ones. More in a few weeks...

Where do I buy gears for this transmission? The gears that mesh with pinion somehow chipped some teeth.

Default SSD Scale Transmission for SCX10

This the new one? I kid.
I made a new shaft and the new setup reduced the total length by about 1.25”. Needed it to be shorter for a build. Not sure if I lost or gain gearing but that can be tuned with the motor later. Still need to drill /tap two 2mm holes.

What grease, or lube is recommended for the internal gears? I broke a drive pin on the bigger gear internally so while I have it apart fixing that I thought I would try to quiet this noisy pig down with some more lubrication, but would like to know what I should use. thanks in advance

I can barely handle all the scale nerdiness in those photos! So cool!

Engine looks to be a great print. Did you make it or buy it?

Did you make the jack stands?
