awesome garden! and awesome truck! Hope mine turns out half as good!

can I ask you what method did you use to secure the body to the chassis?
Magnets? or are there some hidden screws somewhere?

thanks

The only thing that holds the body in place is a snug fit onto the chassis. The front bumper and rear roll cage keep the body from coming off. When it comes time for a battery change, the body very easily slips off with the right amount of pressure. It worked out absolutely awesome!

The Power Wagon's inaugural run was extremely successful yesterday, myself and three other buddies endured a 4.5 hour trek up Mount Doug in 28 degree C heat! (82 degrees F for my friends in America!).

The Power Wagon (PW) performed incredibly well and was such a blast to drive. I built this machine specifically for slow rock crawling and it did not disappoint. The balance and stability is perfect. The only thing I did after I cleaned my rig up after it's a day of getting dirty was change out the pinion from 13t to 15t (32p) for just a bit more wheel speed. With a 2200kV motor and 2S power, I don't anticipate any issues going to a slightly larger pinion.

Huge shout out to RC4WD's Goodyear MT/R tires...they performed awesome and surprised me how good they worked in loose rock and dirt. These tires exhibited some major traction on the hot rocks. The only down side is that these tires won't last long, they look like they have 10 runs on them already....but I'm OK with that.

The passenger side head dismounted itself and spent half the day rolling around the cab...more on that in the pics!

The headlights got bashed around pretty good and I had to re-aim them straight ahead fairly often, but that's better than breaking them off or damaging the body. It's a small sacrifice for how good they look!

The rig took several heavy tumbles down unforgiving rock and the Pimpin Crawlers chassis did exactly what it was designed to do, absorb the impacts and remain perfectly aligned and straight.

Did I mention I LOVE this rig? lol

Nice pics. Those tires indeed look quite worn already.

Was it just too hot and the rubber was more fragile?
This is really huge damage for 1 run...

Makes me worried about my 2.2 MT/R for the bomber.

My 2.2 MT/R tires are also showing some serious tread wear after one run, it's because the compound is very soft. Soft = traction!

My 1.7" MT/R on my Ascender w/HH 550 Trailmaster 21t power also show some noticeable wear, but they are just a fantastic tire.

I wouldn't trade them for anything else - and with such a sticky compound they will likely continue to grip and grab (and grope?) for some time, even if the tread appears quite worn...

Perhaps they will give up some wet traction, but in the dry - look out!

I'm likely to get a 2.2"-sized set for my last set of bare wheels for my Bomber.

My set of 1.55 MT/R has several packs on the yeti Jr and they still look new.

Maybe the lighter weight of the 1/18 size and the little brushed motor is easier on them?

I'd say that's definitely the case!

My Ascender has brass SSD knuckles, brass SSD rear axle lockouts, and a steel BPC transverse battery tray so I can run full-size 3S LiPos instead of shorty packs.

It isn't lightweight anymore...

I love this truck! I think I like it more each time I look at it.

I've found that any and all RC4WD tires in the X2SS compounds and above wear faster than the competition.

I personally approve of tire wear.... This tells me the rubber is doing its job and I love the look of worn tires on our trucks.....

I have a tire fetish and constantly switch out tires and wheels and I never get to see tires wear down. I'm looking forward to seeing the MT/Rs wearing out!!!!

I'm trying to avoid spending the money on one of these so I can get my 1:1 XJ up to par by fall, but every time I see one of his builds (especially this one) I want to send him the $$.

I was not happy with the MTRs for the terrain here. Other tires just seem to work so much better.

Bil you saying how much you love this Power Wagon Truggy really means a lot to me!! I know that you know your rc sh!t so a compliment like that coming from you is much appreciated bud. Im glad you put it to work, to many of my chassis builds end up show rigs (not that there is anything wrong with that).

I am stumped!
how do you get the skid into the c-channel frame after everything is welded solid?

A little bit of muscle is needed to gently spread the chassis to get the skid in.

On another note, I miss the Muskoka region....have had a number of wild nights at the Kee!!!
