If Losi had a rig like the SCX or Wraith, I'd buy it. There....I said it.
I'm not sure if Rubba is still with Losi, but Nabil and Del Monte are no longer with 'em.

Losi appears to be bailing on the crawler community.

Looks like Axial and RC4wd are the only manufacturers truly committed to the crawler community.

So How is it going to stack up with the Gmade R1 with similar motor combination. Just from a dimension comparison, it seems the Wraith is a little longer and slightly wider. I.E. could be more stable at higher speeds. Is the R1 made of better components like shocks, links, axles etc? Or is it similar and the Wraith is a better value?
I wanted to ask the same question too. The R1 was marketed for speed and crawling too, it's just not as popular.

I have a R1, and personally I love it. Put in a 27T or a 13.5 on 3s, the R1 is a blast. The portal axles are sweet. HOWEVER, the shocks, tires, stock linkages are not that great. I upgraded my linkage, got 110 rc4wd dual spring shocks, and sitting on 2.2 TSLs. The cockpit is cramped, so you have to be creative in your set-up.

IMHO, The R1 is cool because it's not your normal buggy. You don't see them around everyday, and with a little creativity, they can be extremely KOH scale that turn heads at the crawling spot.

I am still curious about the Wraith too, I am just not pre-ordering one.

I wonder if this sucker is going to crawl well...may have to change the gear ratio out to slow it down maybe? I'm sure if they designed this rig after KOH rigs, it must be able to go fast and slow down for technical crawls.

I think you will have to lower it down to do any crawling. My KOH rig, the hood sits maybe 1/4" above the tires and I'm at 11.2" width.

Couple of preorder links for those folks in the UK:

369 and May 25th seem to be the thoughts re pricing and availability. Going to check in with my local hobby store see what they are saying.
Cheers

It comes with an 80T spur and 20T pinion. I only plan on crawling, so mine's getting an 87T spur and a 14T pinion, plus some OD/UD gears

I would love to see it have a 2 spd tranny. I love the idea of going fast to bash and then doing a bit of crawling as well. Speed was why I got rid of my scx-10. I like speed. :-)

You'll have to to a trans swap, I imagine it's a matter of time before there is an aftermarket cradle for a summit trans.

You know, there is more options then a Summit Craddle or Summit anything.
SDS Customs is in the process of making a tranny that can crawl and run like hell.
