Newb question incoming - I am looking for a servo and I have kinda settled on the savok brushless ones ($124) my choices are a 440 oz one or a high speed 277 oz one. Is 277 close enough to 300 for me to get the high speed one? Slow servos irritate me....

277 is not great, 300 is really about my minimum suggested upgrade. If you plan on doing mostly fast stuff and little to no trail or crawling than yeah you would probably be fine. Otherwise I would go with power first. How slow are we talking? Slower than 0.15 sec?

.19, not terrible. But I don't think you're getting a bargain either. Savox used to be a good alternative since they were cheaper. Now they are just the same as the others (and really noisy).

Might look at Hitec and Futaba.

HiTec 7954sh $99 from tower. 403oz @.12 Buy this one and put the $25 you save toward a nice clamping servo horn.

That would require custom tubes and shafts to match the width of the front axle.

I've had an incredibly good experience with the Savöx 1230sg.
500oz/in @6V.
I want to say .18 speed but not sure.
It turns my heavy wide offset RC4WD BL5 wheels with pitbull RB II tires without issue.

Only downside is the noise....

I have the 1231sg in my Wraith and it has gotten a bit quieter since new, probably 8-10 packs on it now. I have a 1230sg BN waiting for the 1231 to give up the ghost or I find a rig to put it in. Overall I'm extremely pleased with my Savox experience.

Atleats BGR has the option for the winch mount. Also Mad Skinz Stinger bumper has a winch plate.

Ok, so does anyone make a bumper with scale winch mounts that works with the stock servo location?

Sorry for the double post - Also im guessing that aluminum servo mounts are a must? The stock ones flex like crazy at full lock.
