A little time today.. next was axle mods or getting ready for some new parts..
So I took a hard bristled little brush and gave it a cleaning..

A little dusty but the mud is gone..

now the last time I had it out, I didn't take the warning of a skipping gear. I ended up with rear wheel drive only, by the time I got done bashing around..

A little warn.. lol.. what I found was, a couple loose ring gear screws. I'm sure the cause..

so.... In goes the new..

still debating the VP locker or SDS spool, to go with the HD beveled stock gear ratio..

and to hold it all together..

After this.. the next step is some Dlux modded housings with 16mm bearings!

Only got a touch of time today. So I got the loctite out and bolted the HD ring gear up to the egressor locker.

While I put that aside to dry, I cleaned out the old Black n Tacky, which sucked up the metal from stripping the gears out..

Yummy! Lol...

As I have yet to have issue with the rear axle, I pulled the stock bearing collars for the VP ones..

I gave a few more drops of Black n Tacky and put back together..

Then ran out of time for building..

I did also get a chance to throw the MMP on the castle link and get it setup..
But, it came up as a hpi, brushless esc of some sort????? Any help it ideas on that? It didn't give me a choice of a sensor'd or sensorless setup either..?

After the loctite dried, I locked the diff in..

At which time I realized the rear bushing/bearing area of the housing where the pinion output goes to the drive shaft, was warped some and not holding the bushing.

So I ordered 2 Dlux modded housings with 16mm bearings..

Then I went to work on the rear shocks. With a little help from some pieces I got in a exo lot, it was just perfect for height..

Not a bad fit..

Then I worked the Sexo into formation.. formation of a roller!

I'm pretty Stoked to see it in roller form! Now that shocks are in place, I'm goin to hard mount the rear of the 2 chassis together and get the electronics in and figure out where the battery will be mounted.

I like your fab job man! I was just thinking about how to tackle this issue on my rig. I considered doing what you did and I also considered different upper mounting positions, haven't decided on either. Nice work man, rig is coming along nicely!

What's shake-n-mandril.. haha, its late!
Thanks for the compliments.. I thought urs was/is built?
Hope some of the pics can help ya out. Cause my biggest problem with starting this build was.. their just wasn't any builds that showed off any of the fabbing of the 2 chassis.(not in any Great detail anyways)

Wheels an tires came apart and washed tonight.. the rear foams were just caked with mud! So after a good ole fashion hand washing and the wheels scrubbed under water with a toothbrush, everything is drying.
Tuesday is delivery day for my red rings, so I'll get them all back together then.

Simply Dlux!

After pulling the front axle, which was all of 6 screws. (how easy and awesome is that!)

I went to work on removing my beef tubes from the old housing. Which was a little trick at first, cause I didn't want to ruin the old housing. (I want to try a center axle conversion with the old housings..)

Anyways.. all back together and parts bolted in..

The very first thing I noticed was how great a fit the new modded axles are. Zero slop, to the point where the pinion does Not move in an out at ALL! The new gears will need ran to mesh completely together.
The little extra spent on these housings will, imo, save on gears in the long run.

I'm So ready to run the Sexo now!

All back together..

and my red rings to complete it..

Ok, so I was goin to leave the rear axle alone, since I have never had a issue with it.. But........ Its off now and getting ready to swap out the housing..

Question.. what are the thoughts of the ppl that have flipped the rear axle? Worth doing?
I read up on it some time ago and that it helps TT. Does it really? Any cons against it?

I also just realized, I have stock gear ratio in the rear axle..

Recommend staying F/R 83/13 gearing or ud in the rear for sure?

Think pro4 4000 on 4s.. not for much crawling but some.. more for trail, poker/dash runs, an dirt jumps..

Leave it stock gearing. I don't like UD in the rear of my g6/ basher rigs. Feels to "laggy"

Troy I have UD in the rear and stock in front, very happy with it. Still plenty of get up n go for bashing / trailing, but crawls a hell of a lot better than stock. I think it's less tail happy that way as well at higher speeds.

Thanks for the info.. a little slow on the reply, like my update.. lol..

Dlux'd rear axle, just cause I thought it looked good!

Then I found a Bwd motor plate. Dremeled some material to fit the bombproof..

Name: uploadfromtaptalk1389477430761.jpg
Views: 811
Size: 45.6 KB

Then I realized, the 4th screw didn't have anywhere to go.. so I looked at it and wanted to see what I could do, other then trade out for a scx/ax tranny housing.. I pulled open the dig compartment and liked what I found..

Name: uploadfromtaptalk1389477488713.jpg
Views: 808
Size: 48.6 KB

The top left hole, that's already there(minus a thin bit on the outside), got drilled with a small bit. It doesn't line up 100% but good enough to add some support.
The spacer fits between the tranny an plate snug. Keeps from over tightening down the screw and twisting the motor plate..

Went for the pro4 but the esc wasn't a mmp, (so I got one coming)

I decided to give the HH 7t puller a shot.. that didn't happen, fried the esc..

So back to the RS an 13.5t w/ 56/12 gearing. Stepped up from 56/11

The esc, Rx, an bec fit nicely under the hood..

I ran it in the morning on the rocks some and went to play later that day(until the bec fried :/).

It handles awesome! I can't wait to hit some trail with it! Body roll is way down and TT seems very minimal.

So after I get some run time on it, ill see if I can't delete all that.. with a little help from duuuuuude!

Top 3 holes are threaded and the bottom hole is open, to run the mounting screws thru, very nice upgrade! Get some better link geo and more bite to the front end while crawling.
