Same setup as I posted. It was still terrible. Moving weight to the front to improve stability made the back end way too light. Even with the ESC on a bracket over the motor it was bouncy. I added the 2.2 Poison Spyder wheel with a 1.9 rock beast and foam, the weight makes the rear suspension actually work.

Motor and ESC have been robbed for the winter beater truck. MMP and something sensored will replace it. I stuck between a 3000kv Pro4 HD or something 540 sized and faster.

It's just too cold to walk around in the woods for hours, and crawling is kind of pointless on ice

Picked up an MMP, there are literally zero sensored brushless motors for sale in my town. One guy tried to convince me that only brushed motors can be sensored

So I need a motor. And I like to break stuff, so something 550 sized sounds good to me.

Pro4 HD 3000? Or wait for the Holmes Hobbies 540xl in a few weeks?

I gave in, Holmes Trailmaster BL Pro 3100kv. Had them solder and waterproof as well. All tucked. Away with the MMP and cleaned up wiring. Now I understand why sensored motors are a good thing. All ready to go, I'll get some good running in tomorrow.

It's been warm the last week or so and the ground has thawed a bit. Threw down some flags, drove the 1969 Model 140 around in circle for an hour or so, and ended up with a pretty decent lay out. Time to hit up craigslist for all the free rocks I can find I have a few big tractor tires and stuff to lay out as well

Slash body finally gave up. The front fenders stuck out and hit stuff all the time, the weak point was at the a pillar.

Close enough.

Cut, hack, paint. My first time painting a body, looks good from 10 feet. Tamiya gunmetal backed with brilliant silver. I need to get some sun light shots, it's pretty metallic.

Just a track, I have a 2wd short course truck, an 8th scale basher and a fast-ish wraith, they can all run it. Cut offs with rocks, gonna put in some bigger rock stuff too. Got 4 dump trucks of clay on Saturday, jumps are being built

It's handy having a father in law with equipment

Breaking in the track, Arrma Kraton on 4s. I need to learn to drive

Latest update... Holmes 3100kv trailmaster pro was starting to sound like a nitro motor, and running at 200*. I had payed the extra $10 for waterproofing when it was purchased.

Got an email saying I would get a complete new motor, awesome.

Today I received my 3300kv, non waterproof TRLILMASTER PRO

We'll see how it works tomorrow. Hope I don't get it wet.

Very entertaining thread to watch. Keep it up with the endurance testing.

Endurance testing is a good word for it.

Pitbulls just get better and better. Gotta glue the tears in the sidewalls every few days

Also went up to 6mm transmission parts. HH one piece 6mm lower with a Robinson gear and the matching traxxas MIP ends. I had snapped a few pins at the rear 5mm output. No more issues.

Still getting hammered every day at lunch. Solid crawling and a little u4 track we built. Upper links are going to break soon, I can't believe they've lasted this long.

Unforeseen side effect of lowrider metal flake. Really hard to look at in direct sun light.

Looks like some super rugged terrain in those pics. This has to be one of the best wraith threads on here.

Now you need to toss some clod tires on it and get ready for the snow time...
