Yep, the KIT version includes a 15t 32p pinion for a 5mm shaft motor. I'm hoping its hardened (it's black in color), as the kit has a steel spur gear. I know that Axial is trying to keep the part assortment down, but I wish the XL was Mod 1, as most 1/8th scales are

I'm not sure if the kit or the rtr has a hardened pinon or not but I know stripped all the teeth from mine and two teeth off the spur. Since then I've ordered a 13t, 15t, 17t, and 19t extra hard robinson racing gears and two more stock spurs. I'm hoping someone comes out with new spurs as well soon...I may be the only one here but I actually want more speed ...I stripped my teeth running thru a mud hole on 6s and that was the only damage.

Well, did some late night building, and was hopped up on RockStar, so I missed a few pics....of Bag E, but here's the parts minus a few screws for the rear cage/fuel cell:

I got most of bag E complete minus the rear sway bar:

Here's a couple of pics of the fuel cell. It's nice and scale, but I doubt I would use it to store anything (light wires, etc)

Now for the long awaited rear sway bar.....the instructions wanted me to mount the sway bar prior to mounting the rear cage/shock hoops to the chassis.....but I got impatient and learned the hard way! Also, Axial give you metal balls for the sway bar links

Now for the battery doors. They are nice and Revo style, but the hinge piece is just that plastic antenna wire looking thing in the tree:

Bag F!!! Now it's time for the rear clip and mounting that massive rear axle to the chassis. Included were the anodized aluminum plays that reinforce the plastic trailing arms similar to the 1/10th Yeti, but larger!

And what's in the bag:

Here's a compare between the 1/8th and 1/10 trailing arms:

Now all the rear 4 links put together. The kit included the RTR's plastic sandwiched upper links, which seem decent. The lower trailing arms clearly had too long of screws included:

Now a look at the parts installed:

You may want to check that all your screws are tight from your transmission to the motor mount. If there's any play where the motor is moving at all, would cause that kind of damage. Just a guess without looking at it. And Yeah, 6s has it's downfall! lol

I had to re-think my servo choice once I saw how large this thing was. I have a couple of extra Futaba servos that hit about 300 oz/in, but I did t think they would with stand this thing, so I just ordered in a Hitec HSB-9380. High voltage, brushless and right under 500 oz/in of torque.

Default The RCNetwork's Yeti XL -KIT version!

I started the shocks tonight. These things are massive, and probably the best shock I've assembled from Axial. Unfortunately, the piggybacks are not functional, but they sure look good! Based on the 1/10th scale Yeti, I was expecting the rears to be longer than the fronts, but they were all the same size with the main differences being spring rate, oil weight and pistons.

Here's bag G

And the contents:

They assembled nice and the instructions were solid. The KIT comes with the piggyback cap and a non piggyback cap. Here's how they look:

It's too bad the brand logo for Icon is covered by the massive dual springs. Also, there's a sticker that's included for the piggyback that has a black Icon logo.

And just a compare with a Quarter:

Now onto Bag H:

Lots and lots of course screws for the cage system. Instructions got a bit wonky with the number of screws and sizes having a mis print.

I did the cage before I installed the shocks, but here's how it looks:

One of the last bag before dealing with the body panels and wheels/tires. Bag I:

Pretty self explanatory, but aluminum hex nuts, serrated on one side

Shock caps a appear to be plastic, correct? I was hoping to see aluminum with these shocks.

Yep, plastic on the caps. It is the firmest plastic from the kit though....but yeah, aluminum caps on a kit of this size would be nice.

I'm not at where my XL is right now........based on size, all four rears of a Losi 8ight might work.......I'll get you sizes on Monday. The Yetis do have a unique rear set up using 10wt oil in the rear with a 6 hole piston with 1.4mm holes.

I've gotten pretty far on the Yeti XL KIT build and shot Update 2 today. Just gotta install the electronics, paint the body and glue up the 5 tires!

Here's a couple of pics of the build this far:
