Looks like a lot of fun ahead! I love upgrades! Can't wait to see how the aluminum piggy backs fair. I have purchased a lot of Dhawk Racing parts for my XL kit because I am sticking to the champaign anodized color scheme. But I really like those piggybacks!

The main reason I got these was because of my experience with the 1/10th Yeti's HR parts. They're great for the price. The motor mount, steel spur, HD bevel are all top notch. The got and finish are great too. HR has gotten a bad wrap a while back, but something changed recently. Stay tuned! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Just watched your review video (Thanks its has great information) and took notes as I am picking up my kit today. I am new to the hobby and am nervous about making my series connector for the batteries. Is there a website with a diagram on "how to" assemble this? Also as I have not yet done the assembly of the tires I wanted to put foams in the tires before I glue them up but not sure of the tire size or the recommended type/style of foams that you would recommend for casual use. Any information is greatly appreciated!

Thanks DG! I just purchased a Castle Deans Series Connector: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...FQyEaQodcSUAkw I bought it about 3-4 years ago and glad I didn't get rid of it. For the $10 or so, it's hard to even make it for that price! As for the Foams, take a look at Crawler Innovations. They now have a Deuces Wild foam for the XL 3.8" wheels/tires. Would be a great upgrade for almost any type of driving of the XL, especially fast stuff. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Just ordered the Deans series connector. That takes all the worries out of making a mistake. I can rest easy Many thanks...

Rich, Just watched the review. Have you seen the chassis skid plate from Tbone Racing? It would keep the bottom of the car smooth and protected for the low slug ride height you are running. They also offer a front bumper that looks good |

Thanks Bob. I'm not a huge fan of TBone's bumpers. I know they have been improving the design, but they really take any scale look of the vehicle away with the "bash" bumper. I've also learned from the race world (the RPM Front Bumper for the SCTE) that adding something under your chassis reduces the shock travel Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I've started the upgrade series for the XL KIT version. I wanted to add a bit of durability to the KIT. There will be 3 videos in the series (rear clip, front clip and suspension) and I'll post those later in the thread. For now, detailed pics! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I picked up some of the all new Hot Racing parts for the XL. If you didn't know, Hot Racing recently went through some changes improving the quality of the parts, materials, tolerances and finishes. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

First item on the rear is the aluminum diff cup: I opened up the rear axle housing and it was surprisingly clean! After 5 packs, I expected some sort of debris: Comparison on the plastic vs aluminum: And the final product: Solid item and went together perfect! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Next are the link mounts both upper and lower that rest on the chassis And a comparison on the two: They're marked R and L because of the threading on the outside side for the thicker pin that's included in the kit vs the all thread grub style screw from the kit: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Now the last item for the rear were the lower trailing arms. These had a ton of parts with them to keep the movement fluid and I did show specifics in the video on how to install them. Model number: Comparison: And lastly the giant bag of hardware: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
