The panels looks great, homegrown in the USA!

I had already mounted the front skid plate that also came in the kit:

Put some time in tonight and got it mocked up. Just need a longer sensor wire, trim the interior to make it over the fuel cell and add some decals:

Noice. You need some Yeti-Eyes to complete the look. Any plans for lights? I'm curious as to what the rear lights look like with the spare mounted, I forgot to check that.

As much as I like adding lights......I don't know that the XL will get them. The rear light are visible with the spare, but barely.

Looks great!! I've been following your build and can't wait for my XL to arrive. I bought the same Tekin combo (except the 2250kV motor) and want to get the correct sensor wire. How long of a sensor wire do you need? I assume the one that came with the combo is too short based on your post.

If you check the way I mounted the RX8 Gen2, the sensor port is toward the front. If you turn the RX8 to the side or reverse, the stock wire will fit. Other wise, so thing in the 9-10" range.

Rich, could you please check the diameter of the shocks in the kit? I have a kit on order and was wanting to upgrade to aluminum caps. Dhawk Racing and Hot Racing have some nice looking aluminum caps for the RTR. If the diameter of the kit matches the RTR then they should work. Hot racing offers functional reservoirs on there aluminum caps!

Big fan of your YouTube channel! You do a great job!

Thanks Bob! Yeah, I saw the HR stuff starting to release and will probably check out most of thier upgrades including the caps/res. I will check the diameter of the KIT's shocks tonight, but I'm pretty sure they're the same as the RTR's, just silver with the Icon logo

Great build, love it.

Is the rx box any larger than on the 10th scale Yeti?

It almost seemed smaller! Lol. I have a Spektrum SR301 rcvr and the wires from the esc and the servo and that's it. It's full! There is that huge 4"x2"X1" fuel cell though.

Slightly off topic......but here's some running footage of my 1/10th scale Yeti. I should be able to capture the XL soon!

Please tell me that servo is overkill! I would hate to think they were trying to use such a small servo in the RTR that the Kit will require a servo 5 times the cost and 4 tires the power......

Please advise

Thanks

I always like to go a bit overboard on my Servos. The 9380 is right under 500 oz/in of torque and if you do a comparison on my "Not so RTR" yeti running the 9370, it's right in line to what the XL kit needs. The XL is huge and with 7" tall tires, I didn't want any issues turning that monster. I'm sure a 300+ servo would be fine.....I'm not sure on the stock RTR though....
