Weighed the stock RTR wheels, hubs,& hardware against the Gear Head Lightweight U4 wheels, Gear Head .500 hubs, and Locked-Up RC 4-40 Acorn nuts. Pretty happy with te results!

Stock RTR Wheels, Hubs, & Hardware

Gear Head Lightweight U4 wheels, Gear Head .500 hubs, and Locked-Up RC 4-40 Acorn nuts

Basically.....16 grams or .5 oz weight difference. Can't ask for much better than that in an aluminum wheel!

You are gonna love em! Mine arrived yesterday. It is getting so very hard to hold off building this yeti of mine...but I sold a kidney and ordered a vanquish currie axle tonight and some other bling objects from RPP so I'm just about ready to start my first build thread here....I'm actually nervous too! How stupid right

Beef Tubes arrived today and they were actually pretty easy to install. Had to force them in a bit, but nothing a wrench handle and a few goods taps couldn't take care of. Of course I had to file down the inside flanges on the shafts, but I was expecting a lot more work to install them. So overall, I'm pretty happy. Now if my Dude Rang will just get here!

It looks like his rang was found and is mobile again. It got lost leaving FL, it was supposed to be delivered this past monday... Then got lost again once it made it to TX. This rang does not like the mail... This is the one that showed up over a month after Rowdy shipped it to me.

Scheduled for delivery today. which means he will be lucky to have it by next Weds... (He is busy today anyway, RC will be the last thing on his mind )

Yup DT is correct....I haven't thought about rc even a little bit today. My daughter was born at 10:05a.m. weighing in at 6 lbs 10 oz and 19.25" long. There's rigs that weigh more than that! She's healthy though and I did at least get the rear axle put together yesterday. The rang should fix the last issue I have at the moment.

Gear Head wheels on this are actually glue on, but so far so good

Congratulations on a healthy new love of your life! Im betting that sweet little thing already has her daddy wrapped around her finger! I know my 3 girls sure did....well still do if im being honest.

My youngest is 14 now, and i can still remember the first time i held her like it just happened!

Enjoy this Shortbus, all too damn quickly you will be scaring off boyfriends and repairing her first car and if your like me, it will feel like it took about 2 weeks to go from diapers to automobiles....

Little update on a couple things.

My daughter is 3 days old now and yup....daddy's already wrapped! She's daddy's girl already, too, though. Sure, she loves when it's time to eat and she knows exactly where mommy is at all times, but daddy's the one that can calm her down when she' fussy and just not havin' any of it! So we have an understanding.

The Dude Rang finally made it here Saturday. I was in the hospital with my wife and baby girl, but I did manage to get it installed today. Thanks again to DickyT for his generosity on this one! I owe ya' one, man!

And While I'm at it....special thanks go out to scott1981 for his generous donation of a set of Beef Tubes for this rig! Not only did he send them to me free of charge....they were shipped via Fed Ex overnight! Definitely doesn't get any better than that! I'm in your debt, brother!

Now here's what I rely on you, the Peanut Gallery of RCC.

I've had some steering issues since I installed my BL400 servo and I attributed everything to the weak stock steering components and servo saver spring. Now that I've eliminated all the likely culprits, there's only one other thing I can think of being the problem and that's the servo itself. Currently have it set to 8.4V, so it's putting out nearly 600 oz of torque! I'll likely run it at 7.4V, though, as I don't feel like I need quite that much power for steering since my wheels are nearly as light at the stock RTRs. 400+ oz should be more than sufficient to turn the bigger, grippier RBII's on this rig.

So watch these couple vids and see what you guys & gals think. I'm open to suggestions at this point.

seems to me it could be the pot on the transmitter. i would plug a different servo into the receiver(no need to install it into the yeti), to see if it reacts the same way. If it does then look at a different radio. if not then its likely the servo itself.

And here's another build I started on 9 months ago. Still pretty immobile, but coming along nicely. RTR weight is a bit less than the Yeti and has a longer wheelbase, too!

Your daughter is adorable, congrats again!

If you disconnect the servo horn from the servo does it exhibit the same characteristics with no load at all on it?

Haven't tried that yet. Don't know why it would make a difference, though. There's no spring in there anywhere.
