Just troubleshoot dang you lol...

Correct, no spring, no load of any type. If it does the same thing try another servo (not connected to anything) as listed above. If that works and this one still does the same I would contact Holmes...

And save your pennies to get a better radio with true EPA adjustment soon.

Note: I made removal of my servo horn easier by drilling a 1/8 hole in the side of the chassis that I can slide the driver through, rather than remove everything needed to take the servo out.

Do you have a ground wire going to your rx?

BEC is wired directly to servo + & -. Signal wire from servo to RX. Nothing else from servo to RX. Wired the same as my Wraith.

Here's a new vid with the steering disconnected. Just the horn on the servo.

If I recall, you are powering just the servo from the BEC?

Remove the BEC from the equation, let the servo get it's power from the RX and see if the same happens.

next step would be to try a different servo, mind you make sure it can handle your BEC voltage. I still suspect its coming from the radio, the servo is just doing what the steering control is telling it. if swapping the servo still does the same thing, you can try to plug the servo into the throttle channel on the receiver, then the trigger would control the servo, see if it runs smoothly then

Could be the RX, too, I suppose. Wonder if it got wet and the water didn't get out of there all the way. May have to rob my Wraith for the RX & TX out of it.

ya it could be, is the wraith the same radio? if so you could bind the wraith radio to this receiver to help narrow things down too.

or even plug this radio/receiver into the wraith

Okay, here's what I came up with.

Pulled the RX and TX from the Wraith and plugged them up. Same problem. So then I started looking at the pigtail the guy at my LHS created because it looked fairly rigged. Made a new one myself and tried again with the RX & TX that came with my Yeti and same issue. So I then bypassed the BEC and ran the servo directly to the RX and low and behold it works. SO.....

It's apparently a faulty BEC and I need to order a new one. Not certain what happened to this one, as it was never used but I'll just buy another one since I cut the covering off of it to see if any of the circuits looked burnt or anything. Hopefully I'll have it up and running by the weekend.

well good you got it figured out. id be curious to drop the bec voltage down to 6 and see what it does.

i am just wondering if it is the servo having problems with the higher voltage

I'm sure it would be fine. The servo should still operate at nearly 400 oz. at 6V.

Specs:
Weight: 68g
Dimensions: 40.5x21x37.5mm
Spline: 25 tooth (Futaba type)
Torque @ 6v: 27.3kg/cm (396 oz/inch)
Speed @ 6v: 0.17 sec
Torque @ 7.4v: 37.2kg/cm (482 oz/inch)
Speed @ 7.4v: 0.14 sec
Torque @ 8.4v: 42.1kg/cm (572 oz/inch)
Speed @ 8.4v: 0.13 sec

Man I walk away for a couple minutes and the fan begins being hit by poo....all I can say is I'm glad you got it squared away, those wiring issues are the ones that give me the most grey hairs!

UCFab swaybars showed up today and they're nothing short of awesome! Will have pics up in a bit. Which rod are you guys having the most luck with? The smallest diameter seems to be pretty soft.

I have only tried the small one, but it is exactly what I was looking for. I always found the stock one stiffer than I wanted. But that is to suit how I drive it. I trail run and crawl, not bash.

As promised...pics of the UCFab sway bar itself and installed with a bit of an accent. I've gotten a little happy with the gold Sharpie paint pen lately!

As an update.....soldered up and connected a NIP CCBEC that I received yesterday and tested at both 7.4V and 6.0V and still get the stuttering from the servo. So....I can only assume at this point that my HH BLS HV400 servo is faulty. Will contact HH and see about a replacement.

I have a couple of emails in to Holmes about the issue. Hopefully I can get it resolved fairly quickly.
