Unlikely, they designed an entirely new transmission around the concept. I guarantee you the parts were designed before these things ever hit the market. My guess is that they couldn't keep something alive & figured the storm of poo was less from not releasing than from releasing something that guys would be breaking in short time. Regardless, I want a 2 speed. If it won't stay alive I'll either make changes or go back to a wraith based rig with the AX2.

On that note, I wonder what a PRO4HD on 3s with an extra 2.3:1 gearing is going to do to driveshaft/axle gearing/axles/everything else when I do something dumb & pin a tire. Oh the parts are gonna fly , but that's OK, at least it won't be shelved anymore.

I don't know if this is possible, but a close-range gearbox would be a nice option, for those of us who aren't planning to take our Yetis rock-crawling but would still like to give the motor a little bit of a break when running through the woods.
I'm with you on this. I dont crawl mine. Its a basher. I got it because it looked cool and is fairly fast. I'll buy the two speed so I can gear it higher without burning up my motor, but a closer ratio would be fine with me. I like wheelies.

Different people like different things. I wanna go fast!

Looks like the gears are plastic in the photos. Are the shafts also plastic? Are bashers going to run into durability issues over using steel like the stock gears?

You can get a lot of information on page one of 99.99999% of all threads. Starting there would stop a lot of senseless questions.

Why would you think they would make gears out of plastic? This is a upgrade for those interested.

1) My Yeti probably won't do 30mph.

2) My Yeti won't have locked diffs. It'll have super-thick diff oil, but not locked diffs. I already have a Wraith that's fully-locked, a Telluride that's front-locked, and a Summit with remote-locking diffs. I'm good on lockable-diff vehicles for now. (though I may install a front locker on the Yeti if I can't get the all-terrain traction I want with 1,000,000wt silicone in the diff.)

Phosphate-coated steel is black and shiny, but that doesn't make it plastic. Read more.
