From your pix and not being coiled, looks like he was just trying to get out of your way so you guys can get to business!

Yah. He was just cruising around but we had four kids with us so we changed direction and let him do his thing.

And by someone I mean mine. Guess thats what I get for leaving him with you guys while I walked back to my car. Heres some video from a bit back showing some of the terrain. Too bad Prifral doesn't make it out anymore, he has such purdy rigs and great camera skills http://vimeo.com/21635296 No idea why I can't embed it. I almost stepped on one that size about 20 years ago hiking in McCain Valley. It was in the shade, I did not see it at first, but got a weird feeling that I should stop and look around for a bit. For what I did not know and then bamm, there it was! Gotta always go with those feelings in your gut.

Have any of you guys gone out to the Glider Port to run your RC vehicles? doesn't look like much in the way of rocks for crawling, but maybe some fun terrain with semi-hard rutty dirt areas. | |

Shinjari and I have been going to GP for years. It's one of our go to places. There are alot of cool "canyons" to run in that will give a good challenge.

My friend and I did GP about two months ago for the first time, we drove our rigs down the trail that takes you to Black Beach, which at the moment we didn't know that's were it was taking us to. Coming back up let both of us know our age, I was sore for days after that. Not much of rocks but plenty of trails if you take the side trails. I personally like Sunset Cliffs better, the park at the very end, you can spend an entire day and only scratch the surface.

Hard to say let him try when the sign at the trail head says no remote control vehicles. I mean, I totally agree with you that we aren't doing anything to the rocks out there. I mean if anyone is doing anything its the BMXers who are physically altering the environment, no offense to cyclists. We are just playing on rocks. Just seems they got a new memo from the higher ups or sticks up their @$$es and are out to get us when previously they never bothered us. Last edited by Shinjari; 03-27-2014 at 10:17 AM. |

Well it's like we were talking about with Cowles (or other Mission trails areas), these are areas where they allow mountain biking. I mean I'm not against bicyclists, and have always enjoyed riding. But how can you justify the use of a bicycle with a 150 lb. (give or take) sized person to be allowed but not a <5 lb. RC vehicle cruising a trail or crawling up small and/or large boulders? The impact on the terrain HAS TO BE much less with an RC vehicle, than it is on a bike with some aggressive tread and a full-size rider.
