Jens no worries brother on sending another set you have a great idea on this but I think aluminum is the way to go. I had a gtg today at a place here in Tennessee called long Hunter State Park full of rocks and hill climbs and we gave it hell. On the hill climbs it did what its supposed to do help the rig not flip backwards and on the rocks it did well also until the rock of all rocks took it to the grave. Like I said previous It would hill climb like a monkey climbing trees front end down ass up and go but when I put it to the test of the rock it snapped. This is an awesome idea and if you do decide to do them out of aluminum put me on the waiting list cause I'll definitely get a set. Thank muddy.... New V2s: |

| Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry *V3 - Aluminum/Steel Update* I've been talking to a few machine shops, and I can keep the sales price at $10/pr if these were cut from 1/8" Stainless Steel (even stronger than the aluminum... if you can break these, then you are crazy). Since it would be cut from flat plate, they would require you to drill an extra hole on each side of your chassis to prevent the piece from rotating. The shop can't cut them one at a time like I am able to print them (for a reasonable price), so I would need to know there is enough interest before getting them made. The shop has a 2-10 day turnaround, so these would be out by the end of the month if there is quick enough interest. To show my loyalty to my existing customers, I can offer those interested in the first run of these for 25% off. For any new customers, it would still be the $10/pr price. (For those that have paid, but haven't had any shipped yet, you have an email coming very soon.) I would need to have at least 10 people interested before I would send in for the parts. Once I received them, you would get invoiced and pay at that time. (No money up front needed for the pre-order.) These new risers would be slightly different to mount your links, and when I get the first run I will post up pictures of how this would work, but there would be options on how to mount them up. So, if you are interested, please post up and I will start a list. (Again, no obligation or commitment needed until I have the parts in hand ready to ship.) Thanks for everyone's help with developing this product. I appreciate all the feedback, good or bad, either way it helps make the product better. Interest List: 1. PCHILNSF (25% off) 2. Does this new design take into account for the slightly larger MIP drives??? If so, I would like two sets....I knew you could find a cheaper solution |

Added to the list! Added! Do you guys have a preference between Stainless Steel and regular steel? I liked the idea of stainless because of it's rust resistance, but regular steel would be easier to weld to the chassis. | |

Regular steel would probably be best so they could be tacked or welded to the frame pretty easy, if a guy wanted to secure them like that instead of screws. That's how I made my risers on the SCX-EXO. Cut some steel pieces and welded them to the frame. Just remember the frame is channel. I had to box my frame in a little bit to keep it strong like I wanted. Your design may include that feature. Szczerba's SCX-EXO ... |
