What if you have a MOA that has a driveshaft that goes to a centrally mounted transmission that powers the axles?

This is about the stupidest thing that could happen to this sport. Never got looked at before and people had access to clod axles and the know how to make them 2.2's. The top drivers could driver any truck to the winners circle. I for one will never drive an MOA but after dumping what I did into my LCC and if this went through I would walk away and not blink once. ow can you have a world champion 2.2 if you split the class? I would like to see what Losi or Axial would have to say with this thought after they dumped all their money into marketing their products?

The new moa-only class also gets 4ws

I dont see this happening anyway, since the losi is a shafty and also a top finisher at national level events. You really thinking of taking Losi out of the game? doubt it.

This is possibly one of the dumber ideas I've heard yet.

This year, we ran a "Amatuer" and "Pro" class. We ran the same courses, but with a few alternate lines (hard line for "Pros" & easier line for the "Ams"). The classes were split based on ability/comfort level, but no different. The person was able to choose which class (but had to stay in that class for the season). The only extra work involved was that the course designers had to plan the alternate lines. However, it ended up saving time in the long run, as they didn't have to lay out seperate courses. After going to this, all of the complaints ended from the less experienced / less serious competitors.

Now, as for shafties vs MOA's, there didn't appear to be a definate advantage. Here's the breakdown of the results of our last comp:

Top 5 in Am was:
1st MOA (Bully)
2nd shafty (Losi)
3rd shafty (Axial)
4th shafty (Axial)
5th shafty (Axial)

(there were at least 3 other MOA's in the class)

Top 5 in Pro:
1st MOA (Losi MOA)
2nd shafty (Losi)
3rd shafty (Axial)
4th MOA (Berg)
5th MOA (Berg)

Our season results were also a similiar mix:

Am:
1st MOA (Bully)
2nd MOA (Berg)
3rd shafty (Axial)
4th shafty (Axial)
5th shafty (Axial)

(and the biggest reason that 1st & 2nd were MOA is that they probably put in double the practice time of most others in the class. It wasn't so much the vehicle as it was stick/wheel time.)

Pro:
1st MOA (Berg)
2nd MOA (started Bully, finished MOA Losi)
3rd started MOA (Bully), but finished w/ a Losi shafty
4th MOA (Bully)
5th shafty (Axial)

What's next, are we going to seperate bodied rigs & bodiless? Then we might as well have a class for home built tubers and a seperate for T1e & Beetlejuice style rigs.

If this is truly being considered, I hope the people in charge come to their senses quickly!

It's like any competitive hobby, starts out awesome and gets all screwed up with rules in the end.

This is a lame suggestion, and I hope its only a suggestion. Any and all winers need to buck up or give up. What are we going to have a 2.2 moa champ and a 2.2 shafty champ. Stupid. If we need improvements to the rules or something, fix it. Don't throw the whole thing out to start over. Now where does that sound familiar....
