as far as your remark about the full scale, you're missing the part where I said I consider crawling to be a scaled down version of full scale (maybe I should be building scalers instead of comp rigs, but, what if it's a scaler OF a comp rig?) 1:1 rock crawlers don't have MOA, and thusly I don't agree with them in small ones, however, I also said that's my PERSONAL OPINION, when I go play with others, I don't whine and complain if they've got a MOA rig or they beat me or anything else, I learn from mistakes. As I had pointed out this weekend when I took my wife out crawling with a rig I just finished building for her, it's not about the rig, it's about the skill of the driver. There were lines that I couldn't do with mine, but could do with hers, but she couldn't do with hers because of inexperience. Once I'd made the adjustments to hers that she requested, she walked up every line that my crawler had trouble getting up because she'd paid attention to how I was getting up them. Equipment is 50% of the equation, skill is the rest, and before I call MOA's cheating (which I haven't, I just said I disagree with them), I'm going to make sure it's not driver skill error. If you give me two crawers that're set up identically, weight is the same and the only difference is one is shafty and one is MOA, and then it becomes obvious that one can go places the other can't, then I'll say yes it's an unfair advantage and a separate class is something I'd agree with, just like you separate electric and nitro 1/10th TC's and you separate buggies and truggies in offroad racing. Why do you separate them? Because Buggies and Truggies are 90% the same vehicle but the 10% difference makes a world of difference in performance and handling, and on the whole it's an unfair match up to expect truggies to compete with buggies and vice versa.

driveshafts are a big part of why i got in the hobby, comp rigs might not be scalers but the scale aspect is what i liked. give the moa trucks rear steer and let em die with the supers. i really don't get the sportsman class at all, i thought that was what 1.9 was for.

The Losi is the reason this is being done, Berg owners are scared. At least the one that vote yes on banning shafties. I am certain that all the ones that vote yes to ban shafties will be stepping down this week anyways. (I will help you on step further by exposing all of their name, (_____________________) (yup thats all of them). Last edited by renoirbud; 11-09-2009 at 11:45 AM.

After reading all this, there seems to a general concenses that a MOA is better than a Shafty by nature. I say its all propoganda <<< is that spelled right?.Anyway. Its a idea on how to win a race before it starts. If you make your opponent feel like your car is better from the get go then you have an advantage. You are led to believe a MOA is better with comments like, " a Shafty can run with a MOA if its set up right " IMA, a Shafty is way better. I only have to buy one motor and ESC, It cost three times more for a MOA to run with a Shafty. You have to buy burg offset wheels just to fit where a Shafty can go all day out of the box.

I watch Losi's school Moa all the time. I really dont see how this would be anywhere near a "truth" as much as an idea. and if it did, im sure a great deal of local clubs would give the idea a big fat middle finger and run 2.2 just like it is now. |

Shafties took top places this year in our local series. Axial 1st, Axial/Losi /Losirecently converted to MOA took second and me in 3rd with the berg. All about driver. Shafty was also the most consistent all year with a top 3 every comp. Berg was hit or miss. Non issue if you ask me. |

You guys didn't hear about the National Crawler Care Reform? The bill passed & RCC is gonna buy everybody a crawler that doesn't have one on our dime. Shouldn't everybody have a rig? Now get ready for 2010 |
