Aurora Colorado shooting

There was a shooting early in the morning in Aurora at a movie theater during a showing of the new Batman Movie, the details are still coming in but as i post this 14 are confirmed dead and at least 50 are wounded. Police found the suspect at his car with multiple weapons on him along with a bullet proof vest and a gas mask.

I saw the headlines but didn't read the story until just now, and didn't realize it was here in Colorado... Sad story. It really makes you wonder what goes through some peoples heads.

Yeah as he was standing up front trying to shoot 3 guns, if a dozen people stood up and started firing at him maybe it would'nt have been as bad, maybe a couple victims and 1 dead shooter.

I think if he knew a bunch of people had guns when he went in, he wouldn't have went in. Just my opinion.

I'm heading out this weekend to purchase a handgun. Monday morning I will be going to the courthouse and applying for a cc permit. This news story took me off the fence as to whether or not I wanted to own a firearm.

Very sad. At least they got him and can(hopefully) find out why he would do something like this. Most of tye time with these shootings the assailant normally dies, whether by cops or himself. Then we never really know why people do this.

It's certainly going to ruin the experience for movie goers now.

Always like to hear somebody willing to defend themselves , never know, that person may save someones life just by being able and willing.
Arizona does'nt require a permit, hang it on your hip here .

I carry all the time. Incidents like this make me think I should carry a spare mag all the time even if it is a PITA.

I'm heading out this weekend to purchase a handgun. Monday morning I will be going to the courthouse and applying for a cc permit. This news story took me off the fence as to whether or not I wanted to own a firearm.

Have any questions on guns, ammo, holsters and etc just post in here there are plenty of guys that can help steer you in the right direction.

He had a bullet proof vest on, i think he was prepared for the chance that someone in the theater had a cc.

A vest still leaves a lot exposed. If you get hit even with a handgun round (which a class 3 is only going to stop) you will still feel it.

Very true but it showed he was prepared both with the vest and the tear gas, it would be difficult to get an accurate shot off.
