Cory informed me that I managed to take the win on the Dirt Rally Challenge so I now have the pleasure of selecting the next event. So I present to you a stage that should take about half the time of the last one in a much older car. Location: Wales - Pant Mawr Conditions: Midday/Cloudy Car: Group A Lancia Delta HF Integrale with no changes Get after it, fellas!! |

Nice driving Tommy. I ran a few runs last night at Pant Mawr. It's a tough stage IMO, or could just be me and the Lancia don't get along, not sure which.

Thanks, man! I did a couple laps last night. Definitely looks like it's going to take a sub 3 minute run to bring home the prize. I would've done something faster and more open, but since we just did one of those I wanted to mix it up a bit. |

I think you're right Tommy. Got some more runs in last night, starting to get a feel for the car. This was a clean run, but I'm sure there's more speed to be had in sections. Last edited by hpiguy; 08-04-2016 at 06:19 AM. |

^^Yep it came through, and added you to my friends list. I ran for over an hour last night, fastest run that I thought might be close was a 3:10 flat, that 2:56 is blistering fast! |

Ah, thanks Tommy, very gracious of you. I'm not in front of the Xbox right now to see weather options so if it's wrong I apologize. Let's have some fun with some of the classic group B monsters Baumholder, Germany Frauenberg [Long] Midday sunny Lancia 037 Evo 2 Oh yeah, forgot, stock setup, no tuning. well I spent another 9 hours , wens, thurs, fri, working on the FFB on project cars. by the end of the 3rd night I rage quit as usual no better than when I started. so I decided to hit up steam and download Assetto Corsa + 3 dream car packs combo overnight. heres some notes I jotted down from day 1. Menus are very meh and plain. old school and remind me of GTR and rFactor. at first the graphics were very un impressive. then I turned them all up to Ultra. they look decent but are sparce. particularly the tracks and textures. Had to reverse pedal throws. no wheel or pedal caliberation in game that ive found. Tires pick up the surface, ie gravel and grass etc. also have gravel hitting floor pan sound as you re enter track. sounds like a slow clap maracas, more on that later. not sure if it affects grip until cleaned off. it could. has hidden side menu. proby 20+ things you can open and add to the on screen display. every thing from lap times, live tire telemetry, pedal throws, track maps, fps, video filters, et etc. and they are all adjustable in size and can be placed anywhere on screen. all sims need this. set brake gamma (expo) to zero, default has some expo in it. video filter for different looks. I started off liking Movie, and Natural, but towards the end liked the darker Photo and default dark. street cars lack traction. major push and therefore no brakes either. I know a stock Z06 has more grip and brakes than that. (I was running stock setups though) sounded terrible too. Most motor sounds of the race cars are passable. not great but ok and doable. a lot of the street car motor sounds are terrible. the rest of the sounds as a whole are cheesy and bad. tire squeal are ok, gravel sounds like maracas, gear grind is bad, etc. all cars have there own unique exhaust note though. you MUST turn "tire skid volume onset" to 200%. stock is 100 and they squeal all the damn time. annoying, and not real. Kunos explained it like this: 0% tires squell all the time, 100% a happy tire will squeal, 200% tire will only squeal when its sliding or over its limit. at least with the stock setups, I found once you started a slide, it was pretty much impossible to drive out of it. it would just loop. on the same note I could not make drifting work. a(they have a cool special drift track)at least with stock setup street cars, once the rear came out I couldn't catch or hold it. it would just spin. however ive heard drifting is pretty good, so I hope it gets better. stock it seemed impossible to me. FFB is decent and passable. only complaint is they use a general shaking/rumble when the car is cornering hard or the tires are spinning. not very real and annoying. one thing that was cool about the rumble is it shacks my cockpit so much I actually get FFB in the pedals which actually feels pretty cool and real. but its only the rumble so it kinda kills it. if I could get rid of or greatly reduce the rumble I think I would like the ffb pretty well. the driver modeling is excellent the way he moves. he looks down and into the corner in replays like real life. and I think even moved over bumps/impacts. looks VERY real. you also seem his hands working the wheel. not just a stational single axis head pivot like other sims. I don't feel connected to/part of the car. just kinda feel like im guiding it with a magic general wand. some of the race cars were undrivable stock without TCS. most of the street cars pushed so bad they weren't any fun. also stock setups though. Graffitti on the 'ring was plentiful, even up on the walls and curbs I thought I saw. at least in a few spots its very plentiful. car selection might be a little lacking. about half of the few cars, I wouldn't want to drive so that makes it worse. however there are several car packs I don't have (they also include 1 track each I think) I bought the bundle with the 3 dream packs, because they each had a couple GT3 cars in them. heres a few random practice laps I recorded while fiddling with the game, ffb, "weather, video filters, and settings. ignore the capture quality and notchyness. trying to run the game on Ultra, and capture at 1080 was really tough so I had to lower quality on capture. haven't really got into the game yet. ie career to check AI etc. Last edited by STANG KILLA SS; 08-14-2016 at 11:24 AM. |

It's funny you say that about the graphics, I have seen you tube vids of AC on the PC and I always thought it looked really cheesy. I hope the console version is better all around. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
