When we say sprite are we talking bug eyes Austin Healey? I'm just picturing this with the beams in it.haha. That would be a handful. I think you might be surprised at how the 22r gets the sami up and going,that is a pretty big motor. A bloke over the road from me had one with a baleno efi motor and it went pretty hard. Might have been a 1.6 but it was stock. Maybe you should sell mark your 22r. lol. For me the 3rz was a no brainer,i found a smashed 2wd that I scavenged parts from and except from new engine mounts and piss farting around with my old carby fuel tank (fitting efi pump and what not) it wasn't that bad. Bolted to the standard g52 box. I had to do a highsteer conversion though being SFA. When I fitted the motor I was a bit underwhelmed but going up hills in 4th easily, loaded, with 33" tires wouldn't happen with the old motor,or cruising on the beach in 2nd easily. It's a shit load more reliable and powerful. Lots more power on tap in the boggy stuff,which is where it counts. I pull my little boat behind it and don't even know it's there. Stills burns people off the lights with a boat on the back. haha Not bad considering I got all the parts for about 1200 bucks and fitted it myself. |

Not bug eye as I think that ended in 61 but yes it's an Austin Healey. It has a datsun A12 and 4 speed in it now but that just isn't going to cut it.  The beams would be sick in it but it's suspension is shit so too much power wouldn't be any more fun. The sami should be a whole lot of fun when I get it together for sure, even more when the beams ends up in it eventually.  |

Ya the 2/3rz motors are pretty spunky. Have done a few swaps into toys and sami's.
