and when I looked the truck was less than 6 feet in front me

and him doing 50 plus miles per hour

the gap closed faster then we could get out of the truck

so we braised are selves for impact

and it really wasn't that bad, other then the half circle on chest where I bounced off the steering wheel

Eddie banged his knee on the glove box and his knee was swollen and tender and hurt really bad

but I was able to walk away after I caught my breath and Eddie limped away with his leg killing him

and the back motor was pushed back into the fire wall, so we got

I had that same experience with a fat girl one night. I enjoyed it.

and I just got a fat check from my settlement with my sister and the families trust

Its my money from 2012 it only took over 3 years

but the wait is over

no backfiring

no running rough

so all my screwing

around paid off

and if I was going to put a v-6 in my Toyota

the motor would one of those Chevy Vortec 4.3 V-6 High Out Put

or if I really wanted to get crazy

you put a Turbo charged fuel injected Chevy Cobalt engine stocks its 260 to 280 horse power, do a little tweaking here, and a little there, you get well over 300 horses out of it

and tear some shit up

and put a small block 283 Chevy

they used sell the Chevy to Toyota adapter plates and use the stock

5 speed tranny

Not sure how this relates to the poor running engine saga (oh post #174, gotcha)....but seatbelts have been known to help keep steering wheels out of yuor chest and dashboard/glovebox off your passenger's knees.

we did have seats on

we tried to unbuckle them and get out before we got hit

it did happen

I always were my seat even when I was a kid

cause my dad liked to check the brakes and sister never wore a seat belt

and my Dad would make her going flying every time

me and him would laugh cause it was funny shit at the time

my sister still didn't wear her seat belt so he would nail her

With it running great was it just the exhaust and cat that was bad.

Did you drive it to Marks uncorked with no Cat and muffler or did you put the clamp on stuff on it.

What is Marks plan with it?

I ran it with no cat no muffler

and it ran good no problems

no sputtering no back firing

no rough spots

It sitting at Marks shop

I told what I did to it

and told him about the fuel boiling in fuel pump

and that I changed the coolant and thermostat

and how it runs cooler

he said he will check it

he is busy than shit

I found this on my door step today

its my new catalytic converter

Marks going order me a Flow Master or a Cherry Bomb Glass pack

and some pipe and make me a remove exhaust set up

for $ 75 bucks its an nice replacement catalytic converters

I was gonna post that I was the winner of this webisode of Diagnose That POS. But then I see Nate suggested it on the first page (along with other suggestions) I have diagnosed many bad cats when other techs were completely stumped. Throwing parts at a car is the worst thing to do. In the past, Id fire someone in my shop for that. But its cool I can stop checking this thread.

I understand that you are not a mechanic, and have no desire to become one. I also understand that you are not responsible for the removal of most of the emissions components. You got the truck pretty much "as-is" and it was running ok up to a few weeks ago. I'm just trying to follow along to see where all of this ends up.

You have have basically no exhaust system to speak of right now, correct? The truck is running better, it's able to maintain 45 MPH, correct? What changed from the time that you were able to get it up to 70 MPH to where it is now?

no I bought the truck with the carb and smog barely working it took about 2 hours to get where the truck was

but driving the truck home took 3 hours or more cause it, had serious problems and would stall a lot and just didn't has any power and I was under the speed the whole time, cause I had it floored and it was gut less and on

big hills I almost had drop to second and putt up the hills it sucked

To save me money and not for Mark to charge, me his time to figure it out

when he is really busy

so my truck my be at the shop for awhile

that's ok I got my dads 95 GMC turbo diesel

the Toyota

almost died and stalled out at 70 the first time

it never went passed 45 mph

I changed

fuel pump

fuel filter

ignition coil

pulled the throttle body off 2 times sprayed out all the jets and fuel passages

it continued to run bad, so I finally said F' it and cut the cat off and then the muffler, the cat you could barely see thru it and the muffler has to plugged too cause I tried with the muffler, still much engine heat

open exhaust in ran a lot cooler and ran a little better but still not there

when working on the carb I finally heard the fuel pump gurgling , and was hot to the touch

the gurgling was the fuel boiling in the pump

So I think what kept happening was the fuel would be boiling hot injected into the carb, and the colder air going thru K&N filter at 65 70 miles per hour

caused it too vapor lock and go lean and start sputtering and backing firing

so I finally changed the thermostat, and the old one was stuck open and would not close so there extra heat

bought radiator flush and flushed the block and radiator and the heater

and put fresh coolant and water so its now 50/50 not 85/15 or higher like it was before

and after that the pump stopped boiling

and it ran the 12 miles on a back road, with no exhaust, the speed limit is 45, I was doing 50, and hit 55 for a little bit

it ran good, touched the fuel pump after the driver and it warm to the touch not hot or boiling

Mark is going check it out , and install the catalytic converter and sign my 5 year warranty card for it , it needs a licensed mechanic signature then I mail it in

so now I'm legal , and there is a paper trail and its like it never happened, they don't know I removed it cause once Mark signs it off as a replacement Cat that he did at his shop

its a done deal

I dropped the cat of at Marks and told him every I went thru with the truck

and he said I pretty much did a lot of the same stuff he would of done

and thanked me for saving him time and letting him know what I did to get it running

there was a poker run in my town today, that's why there was so many cars and people

there gone now, there all back up in Reno which 35 miles north of me

called me and bought my Nitro T-Max roller and my Nitro Stampede roller

and I made some money and got rid of some stuff

he has a small obstacle course for his SCX10
