Lol. Still trying to make this Dodge diesel sized turbo work on a VDub. I’ve ordered 3 sets of flanges trying to get back to my oil pan. Finally broke down and bought some 5/16x2” flat bar and started making my own today. Need to get a 3/4” NPT female pinched into a 28mm gap between mounting bolts. Gonna see my local welding shop Monday and get that finalized as well as fit a V band onto an elbow. Gonna be some fuggery to get back to the 3” exhaust. 3/4” female to fit these. This is a 2.5” stainless steel donut. Not mandrel bent but two halves stamped together and the seams welded. So it’s actually round and a tighter radius than could ever be bent. 2.5” pipe, ID in middle is 2.5”, so it’s 7.5” from one side to the other. I’ve never seen this before and thought it’s the bee’s knees or something. Got a hole drilled for the EGT bung to to get welded in. Last edited by Brake Weight; 09-11-2020 at 09:38 PM. | |

Well, this just happened... Wasn’t really interested in this scale until I saw one of SBG’s latest videos where he talked about putting a static model body on it. Picked up a Ford static model kit of the same scale to see what I can do with it. Might have to print my own bed though, I prefer the ‘78 step-side bed vs the ‘80 bed. | Re: Pics of your latest purchase Technically, these were designed for connected ESCs & batteries. However, in addition to using them for ESCs and batteries, I don't see anything wrong with using them for connecting motors to ESCs (especially in boats). The connectors, themselves, are 6mm bullets...but, the "wonder" in these is that no solder is required for connecting them to ESC wires, or battery wires. If I were to take a guess, I'd assume they were derived from speaker wire banana plugs...or, to be more specific, the connecting portion between the wires & banana plugs. However, unlike attaching a speaker wire to a banana plug, which uses a single screw to hold the wire against/into the metal of the banana plugs, this setup uses two screws - one on each side. The 'S7' is for 8-10AWG, but they also offer a slightly larger (8mm bullets) 'S8' for use with 6AWG wires. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |

Technically, I can call it my "latest purchase", as it was paid for back in April. Additionally, it wasn't shipped directly to me...it was shipped to someone up in Oregon, who then fully customized it to my specifications. However, as he just shipped it to me a few days ago, and I received it today, I'll consider it as a "latest purchase". It's a hull & canopy for a ProBoat SonicWake...but, this certainly ain't your typical SonicWake hull, and the photos will tell. ~ More peace, love, laughter, & kindness would make the world a MUCH better place |
