The reason we live in a secular society is because it makes these situations non-issues. Everybody has to live by the same basic laws that cannot be interpreted in a thousand different ways. Nobody can say "Oh, I don't take that part of the Constitution literally." and use it as a defense for their uncivilized behavior.

| Re: Presidential election... There are those in the Religious Right that are banking on Trump being elected and then impeached because of his pending lawsuits or any number of other political missteps he's sure to take, leaving Pence in charge to try to implement his ideology. Will it work? Who knows.

Duuuuuuuude your tinfoil is on far too tight. The religious right has no more power than any other group of fundamentalist nut jobs. The 9 or so idiotards that would push for such stupidity don't matter in the grand scheme of things. The push to kick muslims out has fawk all to do with whatever they believe outside of their belief that infidels should die at their hands. It's a knee jerks reaction that makes headlines that would never in a brazilian years pass and if, and that's a ginormous IF it did pass it'd be so tied up in court it'd never be ratified. |

Ind. woman who used 'religious freedom' law as defense for beating son gets probation - Post-Tribune You guys keep saying that, but it's not. They've been around a long time. The Religious Right and the Moral Majority were almost solely responsible for Reagan killing it at the voting booths. When they mobilize they are a monstrous political influence. Quote:
The thing is, I expect a career politician to be at least a little dirty. It's a nasty business and you can't be in it for long without getting some on your pantsuit. She's especially shady though. Gobs of accusations, very little has stuck. And Trump hasn't even touched politics until recently, so I can only imagine what levels of depravity he'll descend further in to...

We all know that utopia is & never will be. Everybody doesn't live by the same laws. Exhibit A: Justin Timberlake. Took a selfie at the voting booth. No charges. Had Joe Blow done so...see ya in 30 days outside world.

| Re: Presidential election... Unions are necessary since people SPECIALISE in a trade and need protection from economic volatilities. Unions where work is of a common nature are definately bad. I would like to see total price fixing and not inflation management by banks. |

Unions should be for safety related issues only. If you work in a mine, yeah the union protects you. If you are a teacher, the union only lets you be a terrible teacher and keep your job.

| Re: Presidential election... There's a lot of truth to that. My wife is a middle school teacher and I am disgusted by some of her co-workers. They could not care less about the kids. They are only there to ride it out to retirement and with the union there is not a damn thing the administration can do.
