I try and link the important posts back to the first post. So if you ever need anything that usually the best place to start. These threads do get very long and I never expect for someone to read the whole thing.

I guess I'm odd, I've read it twice & only my son owns a 4PL, I own a 3PM-x.

Sounds like that one will need to be updated. The B010 and B011 were the first run radios. Is this a new radio? I wouldn't expect too many of those to still be on the shelf.

I guess I've never specified a model name for my setup since I only used it on one car. Now need to set it up for multiple models. Is there a video on this part of the setup or is it read-the-manual time? If I just charge in and muck about I might screw up what I already have -- which is working finally.

I don't have a video on changing models but it's pretty easy. Just scroll down to the model number on the main screen and select it. Change the value to whatever you want and you're done.

Yeah, sounds easy enough. Then to do another model scroll to #2, name it, set it up and what, turn off to save? And when do I bind to the second RX?

You can bind the RX whenever. The Futaba's don't link a RX to a model, just the radio as a whole.

Sooo....if you swap 1 RX from rig to rig, no binding required.
If you have multiple RX's (whether you swap them or not) they will need to be bound to the TX.

Okay. So it doesn't "remember" the bind for multiple RX's. I need to rebind each time I go to use a different car then, which means I need access to the RX. I'm more familiar with rc airplanes. Now that you mention it, they rebind each time I change models too, but it's automatic. I don't have to do anything except be sure the TX is on before the RX.

No you don't have to do anything the RX. The Radio can remember multiple RX's (can't remember if it's 30 or 40). I'm just saying that you can use the same RX on multiple models, it doesn't have to be tied to just ONE model like a spektrum RX.

Gotcha, thanks.
My manual says 40.

Hi,

I have dual Mamba Micro Pro's on my son's XR10 with the 4PL. I have the ESC set to use the Crawler brake, but when he engages the dig in either direction, the other axle is not locked up. I double checked the 4PL set up according to the video, and it looks correct, so I am not sure what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Sounds like the deadband is to narrow on the ESC's or a weak drag brake setting.

Hey peeps,

I got an issue.
I'm trying to set the gearbox servo on my RC4WD Bruiser.
The slider on the PL4 (3 positions: back/neutral/forwards) will be used to set the gears.

So far so good, but the end run of the servo cannot be trimmed it seems.
Actually I can but the setting is not saved when I move the switch to another position.
So the servo is pulling and pushing at maximum, and there's nothing I can do about it. This way, I'll give my servo an hour before it burns out.

Any ideas how to set a 3 position gearbox on the PL4?

Thanks!
