I don't see any other solutions to be honest but again, I'm not a specialist
Actually for a 3 speed you will use one of the DT switches as well. This link will teach you how to program that: Futaba 4PL Setup, Tips, Tricks & Help

Hey guys, I setup my wifes winch on her dial on 4pl. It works great for her because winch is proportional that way. Just wanted craddock35 to know that so he can use the dial for winch like he asked

I have my 3racing winch on channel 3, on one of the DT switches. Is there any way to make it so the switch is momentary? So that it only goes to 100 or -100 when I press it, and goes back to 0 when I let off?

Also, how can I mix the throttle and winch? I'd like to setup a mix I can turn on and off that pulls the winch in at full speed when I give any amount of throttle. I was looking at the manual, but it is written in rather dense almost engrish-y language and is really hard to understand IMO.

Just got back from Las Vegas and I got to play a bit with a couple other XR10's. Mine has very twitchy low end throttle control, especially compared to the 4PKs. Is that a radio thing I can't do anything about, or how would I smooth this thing out? Dual Crawlmaster 16's @ zero timing, dual FXRs, both calibrated, throttle on -50 and now -75% expo. Oh and it has a huge neutral deadband compared to the 4PK. But I can probably get used to that if necessary. You pull and pull and nothing -- then it jumps.

Make sure your FXR's have the most updated firmware available. They do not always ship with the newest firmware.

Yeah, I bought Hotwire, but my Vista laptop didn't like it. Maybe one of my friends has an old XP. Or TeamTekin can talk me thru getting it running on mine. I understand it can usually be done, but probably helps to be a computer geek.

You have to open it as administrator. Right click on it and go down to run as administrator and it should work.

Quick question. After my Class 2 scaler has been sitting for a few days, I turn on the transmitter, plug in the battery and everything turns on, but it doesn't arm. I have found that I have to turn off the transmitter and turn it back on while the battery is plugged in to get it to arm. Any thoughts as to why it does this? Happens about 90% of the time. If I shut things down and plug everything back in sometime that day (5 minutes to 12 hours) it's fine....it's just when it's been sitting for a couple of days. BTW, still lovin' the 4pl! Thanks, Tim.

What it sounds like is that you are running one RX that is FHSS and one that is S-FHSS. When you change the RX type the Radio has to boot up in that mode, so that is why you just have to cycle the power on the radio.

Ah ha! That's it, the 4pl comes with an R2104GF S-FHSS and RPP was out of them when I went order a couple extra RX's. The ones I ordered were R2004GF which are FHSS.....

That's why your the man Harley! Thanks!

Hello
I have my 4PL DIG rebuilt the switch. I like it
if the switch itself back cracks when I let go of him.
I can operate much faster the DIG.
For the reconstruction I had to take the SW2.Thias is a 3-step switch.
All other switches on the 4PL are not situated for the conversion.
SW2 is now out and operate it, I connected a switch tastend/0/tastend.
I operated it with my thumb.

greetings tom

Good work Tom. A local friend of mine and I have discussed modifying the slide switch to do the same thing.

How long do you have to hold the button in to link the radio and receiver? I am trying to link a 4pl to a R2004GF receiver. It just continues to blink red even after holding the button down for 45 sec or so. I tried starting with the power on the controller first then turn on the rec and vice versa. Any ideas what I am missing?

Never mind, figured it out, there is an option on the menu you have to change because its a different receiver than the one that comes with it.
