Yea, try the servo test first...it sounds like a motor issue, possibly a calibration issue

hey losikid, how big of a deal is it to open this thing up and re-solder the antenna wire back on. i wasnt supervising well enough while my cousin was playing with mine. and will it be marked on the board when i do get it opened? from lookin at the end of the wire it appears it just broke loose at the solder joint.

The antenna is (if it's done like on my 2ch FS radio) a very thin coaxial wire where the two leads are to be soldered <0.5mm apart. (I had to use a microscope just to see that it's not a single wire.) Not an easy task without very good equipment. |

For those who have broke their antenna, this is usually how i explain how to fix it First, carefully strip the outside insulation to expose the mesh, you want a solid 1/4" or so showing, now kinda un mesh it and bunch it together off to the side. , now strip the second/inner insulation about 1/8". Tin both leads (try to get only the tip of the mesh), and tin the solder pars on the board bend the inner wire 90* and solder it to the center pad, you want the main wire to be parallel to the board, Keeping in mind that it's a fragile joint, take the tinned mesh and solder it to the outer pad it was originally soldered too A tip while doing this, is remove the antenna from the housing , and when you plug it back in after soldering, make sure i doesn't get pinched inside the crack of the antenna when putting it back into its spot....(you'll have to keep it at the very top of the crack when inserting the antenna |

Austin, Can you help with this? I'd like this procedure adjusted to work with the 0.6.1 firmware. It's just different enough that I get stuck and I haven't wrapped my head around the thinking that's needed to understand. Quote:

If so, how do you like it? What "steps" do you run? The template shows "20", I use "5" with dual CC Sidewinder Micro's & 35T motors in my XR-10 & like it. I usually leave it at "5" to give the front a little "pull" all the time.

I've really liked running this compared to my dig switch (shh!!). What I find is that in steep sections, I end up putting a little more power to the back.

| ![]() ![]() I updated the 2nd post as well, so it doesn't get lost in afew days. I'll be making a little templates booklet/pdf here soon...it'll have something like above but for different things, I'm trying to get it printed on a plastic type paper so it holds up to parts bag abuse. |

lokikid, you deserve some major props for what your doing here. It doesnt seem like your doing it to get rich (although i think you could). So, props.. its awesome. Just two lame questions. If i flash my gt3b for 6 channels, will i have a very hard time figuring out how to use the transmitter? Or will it all be pretty simple to figure out on my own. Also, i dont need a link. just a model or site that sells a compatible 6 channel receiver. thanks. obviously im real new to this.. |
