I've got the LT4 120 and 4000kv SC411 in my EXO. It's a fantastic combo. Can't wait to hear how this set up works in a Wraith.

LMAO!

Mexico would be south of USA.

I ordered a Max Amps 100c pack today and can't wait to see the difference between my 20c. Be sweet if Stan will come out with a 4s or 6s ESC.

I'm sure the batteries are fine, its their C ratings that are buggy. Overblown, if you will, and since they won't come out and explain how exactly they achieve their C ratings, I don't trust 'em. I would consider them burst ratings at best. But I don't want to turn this into another "bash MaxAmps" thread. There are plenty if you poke around the web...

Guys,

Looking for a little support here. I was initially having some issues where the ESC would get stuck and only give me reverse (after reversing). I'd have to double pump it several times forward to get it to start going forward. This was with the blinky firmware.

Then I stuck one of the v2 mod firmwares to reduce the reverse delay. I think it's the 508 firmware. Anyway, I'm running a Tenshock SC411 4000kv motor with 56/14 gearing in a Wraith. Motor doesn't get too hot but it will run for a while then stop running all together. The motor is warm and ESC is still more or less cool to the touch.

If the car sits for about a minute it will run again. It's almost like it's hitting LVC, but the battery still had a ton of power. I have the LVC set and I think the battery was at about 7.2v so well above my 3.4v/cell setting of 6.8v cuttoff. I've emailed Stan several times about this and haven't heard back.

I'm convinced that there is something wrong with the ESC, but I can't verify. When I run that same motor with one of the Sidewinders I have it's fine and will run all the way to LVC. So, my guess is something is up with the program and it's prematurely hitting LVC, or something is wrong with the ESC. Again, it's not hot at all and the motor is nice and warm (but not a 1,2,3 ouch).

Any ideas?

Your battery voltage will dip when you put a load on the system. Just because it measures 7.2v in your hand does not mean it maintains that when you're on the throttle.

Recharge the battery, try again. If it still happens, try a different battery.

I can't remember the last time I hit LVC on a Sidewinder. Unless I set it crazy high, it would almost never shut down. I would always catch the battery dump before it would.

I have sort of that same issue but with the sensor wire attached. I have to push it to get it to move. I did have to flash the firmware couple of times to make it stick and removed the sensor wire, now runs fine. Would like to use the sensor wire though. Just don't have another ESC/Motor to try to troubleshoot.

I do second the battery theory. I ran a weak battery and it was night and day with a new higher C rated battery.

Hard to tell without being able to test the esc with another motor, or test the motor with another esc.

Exactly.

I do think I am going to get myself another ESC with a higher cell rating just to see how fast I can get my pro4 to go.

Well I just put one of these in my wraith with a Tenshock SC411 3500. Only drove it around the bedroom because it's too dark out now. Seems to creep along OK. I'll give an update when I get it outside.

Is that sensored or no?

I can get my sc truck to creep amazingly slow for a race truck. I still have yet to try it in a geared down crawler.

Iirc the 411 is sensored, 410 is sensorless.

What voltage are you running with the sc411? That's the next esc/motor setup I've been planning on...

If any of you guys are thinking about this ESC paired with the SC411 DO IT!!!!

I could not be more pleased with the low speed control, torque and speed. Crawls as good if not better then the mmp / pro4 combo and will leave it in the dust without breaking a sweat!

I think I set the drag brake at 65 and it'll flip the truck over if you don't ease off the throttle.

I'm still gonna play with the settings a bit more, so far this is a fantastic set-up that's a cool $100 less than the mmp / pro4.

I'll post up my settings when I get it hooked up again.

Awesome! I knew it was smooth, I just wasn't sure how well the drag brake would work.

Same issue I have had. Can't turn it off. Sometimes it works, most of the time it stays on. Bought an outcry to use, will use this when I build a short course.
