Go back to 30 punch control. You should always have that to prevent brownouts.

Your battery can't put out enough amps, get a better battery or run lower punch control. C rating is also dependant on mAh rating, C*mAh = Amp rating, though some manufacturers are a little dishonest about their C rating.

Most are dishonest about the rating. It's more of a general 'quality' rating now.

That servo wiring setup sounds like something that could cause trouble. How exactly is it wired? Where does it get it's power?

All of the BL servos I've seen use multiple sets of wires going to the motor vs the normal 3 that I've seen...

Is there a way to have a BL ESC control the motor of a BL servo? I haven't attempted anything yet, didn't want to spend $$$ on a servo if there's no chance of it working.

What?

Most brushless servos use the 3 wire plug or 2 sets of wires to Split signal and power.

I think he means internal wiring, not the servo connector.

As for his question, I don't see why not as long as you don't over volt it.

They're not a 3 wire motor like most RC ones. I'm not sure if it's 3 wires and a few hall sensors or if they're a different wind that I haven't seen before.

Mainly waiting for Mr. Holmes to step in since I can't PM him

As far as I know, > 2 wires = brushless, < 3 wires = brushed.

Also, the pic you posted looks more like a brushed motor to me.

That's a brushed motor that the comm melted on, it's why I'm looking at brushless.

I answered my own question, I had an old JR brushles tail servo that made it obvious what each of the 8 wires were for...

Don’t know yet. The lack of interaction with engineering tells me it isn’t likely. We have one on the way for testing.

I saw your social media post. We intentionally did not lock out any of our third party customers, but we have not done any testing or validation of the settings. We only did testing with Castle branded controllers but saw no reason to limit other brands of Castle Link compatible controllers since it involved little to no work for us and allowed us to ship more B-Links.

You should look through every firmware version and ensure that every setting is showing up and programming correctly. I don't think we have any custom setting types in Castle Link for your products so everything should be working since they are very similar to the Max Pro or Sidewinder.

Can you confirm if the AUX wire function to control drag break is a Castle Patent?
It seems to be missing from both competitors and 3rd parties like Holmes.

Its a new feature, other companies haven't had the time to copy it yet

No patent on file, Blink patented though...

Tekin has little incentive to make a similar function because racing is their main focus and on-the-fly adjustments are illegal under current rules. Holmes either can't get Castle to build him ESCs with AUX wires or could only get them made at a noncompetitive price, JRH has mentioned it before.

Sanwa came out with an ESC several years ago (and might still make it) that you could adjust nearly every parameter from the radio, the only catch was it required a Sanwa radio. Graupner also had ESCs with similar capabilities from the radio.

I don't believe we have any patents on it. We were concerned with ROAR blocking us from racing if it was patented so we left it open to allow competition to develop it to keep us from getting banned.

We've had it on our aircraft controllers for several years now and no one has really copied it. Hobbywing did something similar but it only is used to output the motor RPM to an external governor.

The MMp was current tech for almost 10 years... The MMx has been out for a year.

I would like to see something between the mini an the MMx. The big, heavy case, etc is un needed in most applications.
