Has anyone seen the custom build that Harley is in the middle of? He's got the Mamba X ESC under the hood nestled in a 3d-printed part as if it was the engine...SO friggin' cool! I'm seriously considering bolting the cooling fan of mine under the aluminum hood panel of my Bomber and either just covering it with steel mesh or having a lexan hood scoop on top so it remains visible. Watch his Scale Update video from a couple days ago - at the end of the video you can see it, and I think it was visible on the vid from the week before as well. |

Hes also got a 3d printed scoop meant for the bomber interior you might be able to use.

Ok I've got one, I just received a new Lipo that I've used twice and both times its hit LVC but when I put it back on the charger it has been dischaged way, way too far. One cell was down to 2.90 the others were around 3.25. The trucks I've used them on are both set to auto lipo cut off (3.75 I believe) and none of my other batteries have ever been this low after hitting LVC. I have been charging this battery as a LIHV, and I have others which are working as they should, also LIHV. Now I know I have a junk battery, but my question is how the heck is it discharging past the LVC?? I guess another mystery is why my charger still charges this battery when its sitting around 3.00v per cell and showing 0% charged, it should simply refuse to charge it. One other thing of note I did just recently start using a balance board lead extension, maybe I should take that out of the equation. Last edited by HumboldtEF; 05-14-2018 at 05:41 PM. |

If it's the auto voltage from the hobbywing 1080,. It's been known for being unreliable. Otherwise i would say bad battery... Sent from my Nexus 6 using Tapatalk |

3.0v/cell is still safe. 3.2v is for leeway. I highly doubt you have the auto cell set at 3.75v, that's ~70% charged still and is storage voltage for most chargers. |

Sounds like you just have a bunk cell in that pack. A balance lead extension won’t screw up things since balancing happens at low amperage.

G'day John Looking at trying out some Puller team edition motors What would be you recommendation for crawling only? Car is a sporty, and a lightweight c3 type build, currently using crawlmaster pros in 13\16t |

Go with the same variant you like in crawlmaster.

In a shafty, I prefer the 500. If you are gram counting though, 400. And choose one step higher in turns. So a 13t 500 or 16t 400.

Is having a .3v difference when discharged pretty bad? It balance charged just fine. Every other battery I have reads 8% after hitting LVC but this one has shown 0%, kind of unsettling. | |

If it still balance-charges without taking forever, don't worry about it and keep using the battery. You'll know the battery is shot when one cell is down around 2.75v after a hard run while the other is closer to 3.2v, and the vehicle bogs-down noticeably near the end of the run due to the weak cell no longer doing its share of the work. 2.75v is essentially fully-discharged for lithium-ion batteries. The reason for stopping at a resting voltage of 3.2v is because the voltage actually sags closer to 2.75v under heavy load. The voltage of the weak cell has to get way lower than that before polarity-reversal becomes a realistic concern.

| Re: Have tech questions? Will answer. If you cutoff at a higher voltage like 3.75 your battery will last A LOT longer. SMC batteries state to set cut off at 3.6. Danny Sullivan himself told me that going below 3.4 is bad and does damage to his batteries. All batteries are not created equal.

| Re: Have tech questions? Will answer. Lol. What company do you think makes a higher quality battery? Also I strongly doubt that, as they CLEARLY say all over their site that a puffed battery is a result of user error and NOT covered under warranty.
