When I purchased the shocks, they originally came off a Revo. Those springs where to heavy to even consider. I went with the Jato springs (0.7 spring rate)as a starting point. I do prefer a softer suspension with the area I will be driving this rig. The nice thing about these particular shocks, theydo have a great selection of springs.

Do you run a full sized battery? Like a 2c 5000mah? or more of a compact lower mah battery?

I have not purchased a specific battery for this build as of yet. I am planning on running a 3s 1500 on the inital run due to that is what I have. I have installed it to check weight distribution. seemed pretty spot on for now.

Thx for the reply. I have the same shocks, I may start at 1.0 on the spring rate.

I thought that 0.7 was a great rating to start for my needs . I have really been trying to keep this rig as light as possible. When it is all said and done I may have switch over to the heavier spring rate.

Care to share your link lengths? Im getting ready to make some up in a few min and cant decide if i should make the rear slightly longer. Also, how much spline engagement are you getting with the Wraith shafts? I got a set made by CKRC, thay havnt arrived yet tho.

I will need to take some measurments tomorrow for the links.( Rigs are in the closet of my 3 year old and I am not wanting to wake him) I did extend the rear out also ( I believe the lowers are 106mm ). If I recall on the Wraith shafts I had 4mm left until the full extention was met. I will also check that and post them.

I hope tomorrow to be given enough time to do some wiring. I received the Castle creations BEC the other day. I wish to get it wired up to the servo. That way when I finally purchase a receiver for it. I can through a Lipo at it and hear it Roar.

All right got some lengths to post. I was correct 106mm on the lower links not including the additional length the Traxxas rod ends add. and the uppers are 96mm front and 95mm rear. These lengths are for use with the BWD Foff servo mount and rear 4-link plate.
And as far as the MIP Driveshafts 3.7 mm remaining until maximum length.

Thx for the reply. I recieved my CKRC wraith shafts and they look sweet for the money. I think im going to run the rear as long as possible and the front a touch shorter.

I went to the CKRC site to look at those shafts. They look like Junfac shafts from the picture. They don't show the splining on them. I am curious to see what they look like . Besure to start a build thread for all to see.

On a positive note, I received the Axial #ax30401 (2) Heavy Duty O/D Beveled gears. It is true Axial has updated the pinion gear to take Axial Wraith drive shaft pins AXA0175. Ordered the pins from RPP hopefully will arrive soon. Also finally got the chance to place a order to Highlandcrawler for some Axial XHD no slop lockers a pair of the steel with the new standard hardware.

So, I will soon be getting to beef up the axles internally. The only things I won't be upgrading inside are the drive axles. I need to leave something to break.

Oh ya, I hope the Axial Spur gear cover will arrive today from Drail. It would have been here sooner but, the holiday created a delay. Thank you again Drail for the pay it forward.

I am hoping to post up some kind of updated pictures just for the H#!! of it.

I have not installed yet, waiting on the Highlandcrawler lockers. Which clips are you referring too E or C ?

I have installed these gears in both of my crawlers ( OD / UD ) I am unclear on the clips.

On my stock Diff gears,
there was a little clip that snapped onto the shaft (on the inside)

What are Highlandcrawler lockers ?

Thanks
Sean.

These gears no longer require the clip. The pinion gear is one solid piece with the hardened gears.

the Highlandcrawler locker is Axial XHD no slop lockers .

I really felt they would be essential in the Foff axles. I have not installed these in my crawlers. I do have a feeling that Highlandcrawler will be getting more of my money in the future.
