I had similar luck on my R1. Only issues were the junfac shafts and CVAs

I was actually able to get to it without removing the whole assembly. You just need to take out some screws in the right places and you'll be able to bend the cage up enough to allow you to access that screw.

Of course, what you guys eventually did would be much easier. I may have to think about that.

I also have been thinking about jaybe using some lexan to cover that transmission shifting area to keep it clear of debris. Still working on it.

or a rubber shift boot of some sort. There are flexible filaments for 3D printers available now too, that seems like a good route maybe.

I’ve had a bit of a test run. I can’t get the DIG to engage, 1st and 2nd are fine and everything is setup but it just won’t engage it just free wheels the rear.

Everything is tight, nothing seems off.
Has anyone found a way to improve on this?

If your wheel bearings explode, that is what is causing that.

The dig on this truck turns it into FWD. Sounds like it's working?

I believe Dustin ended up getting Fast Eddy bearings to fix it.

I thought it was supposed to lock the rear wheels? Maybe I understood it wrong

Are you able to see where the play is from the back of the wheel?

That’s what I did also. He offers complete kits reasonably, great bearings for the buck

Same here I had some Fast Eddy kits from other trucks that I used to build it.

Appreciate all the replies but I’m looking for someone who had the loose wheels and then fixed it, as opposed to someone who put on fast eddy bearings from the start and never noticed a problem. Maybe some of you have done this, but it’s not clear.

I did . What IS the problem on yours ? If it’s the bearings, replace the stock crap ones with Eddies.
After my 3rd failure, I bought a full set and swapped all of them out. My Gmade bearings were noticeably junk

Put some shims behind the inner bearing inside the knuckle (pushing the shaft towards the locker). It will get rid of that slop. And better bearings of course.

Dig should lock the rear wheels not just disengage.

Did you pay close attention to the dig shift gears orientation?

Yeh made sure it’s all in the right way, going to have another play with the end points and servo setup

^ This is probably what's going on if you're rear isn't locking. Just tested mine. It does lock if you set the end points correctly.
