Awesome work Harley!

I keep stressing to my wife that when we take the plunge into the house hunting market, hopefully next year, that the house we decide on MUST have a full basement for this reason.

Again awesome work.

Do it, the extra storage room is always needed, just be sure to recess the edge of the bottom shelf about 18" from the edge to make room for legs/feet when you sit in a work bench chair ( or in my case, an old bar stool!)

As a fellow basement dweller, I'm looking forward to seeing how this turns out. Nice start.
Basements are nice, but only when they are insulated! My basement isn't insulated, just 12" thick cast concrete walls. Once they absorb the cold air from the outside it gets like a refrigerator down there, I'll unplug the beer fridge to save some electricity and just keep the beer on the basement floor!

The benches are only going to be 24" wide. I might put them under the benches I put at "bench" height but not under the ones that I'm putting at "desk" height.

My basement isn't insulated but is heated so it should be comfortable.

See I didn't have to convince anyone, this choice was all mine! When I was married my wife would have killed to have all my shit else where. My GF now doesn't even want me to do this shop because I'll spend all my time down there

Yeah, my wife hates it when I'm out in the garage working on my rig. I think a lot of it is because it's detached from our apartment, so she has to brave the weather to come get me or attempt to call/text me. It's a little bit difficult sometimes to feel or hear my cell phone, lol.

That's a pretty serious little mill. Hobby or business use?

Looks awesome....RCC may have to start a "workshop" section. Do you have room for a small indoor course?

The room next to it has lots of room for a course if I got around to it. By the time I am done working on this though it will probably be Spring in all likelihood.

This stuff can really add up I spent about $800 last weekend on tools and building supplies. New compressor, tool box, and Shop Vac.

I need to find affordable flooring options!

Any ideas out there that I may be overlooking?

I know the standard epoxy paint, peel and sticky tiles, and interlocking tiles.

The peel and stick is looking like the leader so far, combined with an epoxy adhesive first.

No sense in waiting around! Just get it done!

This flooring dilemma is what is really killing me though.

A concrete stain would be pretty simple and durable.
