So I've never seen one of these in person, but it seems to me that losi dropped the ball by not utilizing 17mm hexs and wheel nuts. I can't imagine 4 or 5mm threaded wheel nuts staying tight with large tires and 4s power. Dont they make other vehicles on this platform that use 17mm hexs? How much would have to be spent to convert over?

They dropped the ball in several areas.... No mechanical steering stops (I suspect this is cause of broken front axles) Poor wheel material Poor lock nuts on wheels with 4s power Center diff (possibly fr/rr also) set up so loose that they strip over after a couple of runs Very little fluid in diffs Rings/pinions set up very loose Last edited by Texas30cal; 09-22-2020 at 06:52 PM. |

TM, Many thanks for the good words. Just trying to get some real info out there to help people decide if this is the right buggy for them. Like anything else, there are pros and cons, and with so much of the written word heavily biased to serve the writer's financial interests, often times details are skipped over. s. |

Enjoyed your Lasernut review. The photos remind me of why I was so smitten by this thing when it came out. Such a killer looking buggy.

Thanks Smog and WT, It was a bit of work and still ongoing. Shifting the focus on some wheel and tire testing on this platform, and a few more upgrades. Right now I'm fooling with a Nomad DB-8 on 6s and it's far more enjoyable to drive than I had anticipated. The projects never seem to end. Thanks again, s. |

Greetings, We use a Canon EOS 90D and some mile photo editing. Still working on skills to get the high-speed shots clear; just gotta practice more. Glad you like the photos. s |
