There are some nice 380 motors out there brood motors are great if he is still making them the losi mini crawler guys used them in the 1.9 crawler class when it was big.
I'm not so desperate to go with a small pinion to start cutting on the trans case. I've got the 18T Traxxas on the way, 4T is better than none.

If the spur gear mounting had some commonality it's worth a shot. Is there a list of the candidates to start researching specs on readily available?

Based on what I've found online the Axial 40T 380 sounded like a great option but being out of production and made of unobtanium means it's a no-go. It seems the Associated CR12 runs a 50T 380, for $13 it might be worth a try. I have zero interest in the 540 upgrades as it takes away the need for driving skill when you can just hammer it.

Start with losi mini crawler spur I believe the is a 72t spur and upgrades along those lines.

Maybe you can source a losi mini crawler trans and mount it in if it will.

We are talking about trial and error stuff but that is my thoughts I've had if kept going that route. I still have a stock trans sitting somewhere.

Tamiya makes a Type 380 Sport Tuned motor, 29 turns, 22mm can, p/n 51487, not sure if the turns are high enough, just thought I would mention it.

I did some measuring today and found that due to space limitations between the input shaft and rear driveshaft the absolute best (largest) spur gear one can hope would be a 64T (34.9mm). I found a 62T Losi spur at my LHS and tried to oversize the bore to fit the Barrage spur spindle and it ended up slightly off center.

I'm back to checking out other motors (370 or 380) in order to put a smaller pinion on it. I'm checking out Brood Frenzy, Reedy CR380, and if I can find a Dynamite 1208 37T out of the current Yeti Jr.

That's not a bad price at all. I might have to pick one up.

Anyone have any updated links to any compatible parts? A good chunk don't exist any more, and the ones that do are in China and come on the slow bought. Specifically looking for metal parts for a RGT Rock Cruiser 136100. Thank you

The rgt was the Asian release so all parts will be on the slow boat. I get most parts in 10-14 days.

Ftx was the European release and have more metal parts avaliable on their website.

The locker can be hard to find and you need to keep looking.

What parts are look specifically looking for?

I was trying to strengthen my front end. I got aluminum steering knuckles from amazon, but they are shipping slow from China probably. I ordered a Aluminum Servo mount from eBay, and I have a used Savox SC-1258TG coming off eBay. What else do I or should I look at replacing?

The tie rod is plastic on my rgt and has a bend from the factory.

Was looking to improve the turning radius on the Barrage G1. Do the aluminum steering blocks offer more clearance. Also was wondering if the losi mini crawler metal steer rods would work as a drop in replacement to the plastic one. Thanks

For the steering link making one that fits might be cheaper then buying one not sure if the it's a direct fit.

I'm not sure what you mean by more clearance?

I was referring to turning radius clearance. Was looking at this for stronger turning.

That won't help getting better turning radius just might help stiffen up the steering link. Unless for some reason the stock one is hitting. Just FYI that company in the past hasn't had a good track record, maybe they have improved but idk.

Can I overdrive the front with a Traxxas #7079? Making the wheels turn faster for better steering?

It fits but a little notchy. Look in the losi mini crawler section there and a few fixes for the notchyness.

I remember doing the OD mod to my old MRC. It was a tad notchy but I didn't do anything and it worked fine. But that is a little different diff.

I have fit one in a stock barrage axle but never ran it or try to see if any fixes would work or shimmed it. That's the reason I never put it in the Bible.

Would love to have someone play around with it and give us feed back.
