Default 1300 to 1500

Thanks for the info. I forgot to ask about run times, I know gearing will have a large impact on run times, but will 1300 lipo last the same as a 1500 nimh. Are run times long with the lipos for the same mah. When will you have more FX-R esc in? Thanks again for you help!!

A 1500 has more runtime than a 1300. The lipo will have punch until it drains though.

FXR, I do need to order more thanks. If they have them in stock it won't take long to get more in.

Indeed the bearing was slipping. I will get a new bearing on there and send it right out.

JRH...just getting back into crawling and dusting off the old clodbuster with 55t lathes. Currently running 8t pinions and a single Sidewinder with a Castle BEC, planning to upgrade to another Sidewinder for independent motor control in the near future. I'm using the Hitec 805 servo's front and rear.
1) What size (mah) 3s lipo pack would you recommend?
2) Do I need another BEC, or will one handle these servo's at 6+ volts?
3) Should I drop down to 7t or 6t pinions to take advantage of the increased voltage? I was running the truck on 6c 3300 packs
4) Recommend a charger with a built in power supply around $150.

Thanks.

I just placed an order for a 7T Puller from your site with payment being made using PayPal.

Payment went through, but I never got a confirmation from your site since it seems to have went down during my payment process.

Just making sure the order went through.

Site is back up now and my order number is 3884.

I can't tell if my PayPal payment was applied to the order though.

EDIT: Good to go now. Thanks.

I have been trying to get some more info on you new ESC "TorqueMaster BR-XL".

Is the built in BEC good enough for a strong servo (400oz) or will I still need a CC BEC? Also what is the motor limit?

I also have another question that I have not been able to find, Can the Tekin FX-R run your Cobalt puller 7t? Or if I could find what the Cobalt 7t translates into for 540 size turns.

Thanks for any info.

Thanks.
I would use a 2200 pack of 20c discharge or better

One BEC should be sufficient

8t pinions sound great to me actually

The hyperion 0606i ACdc is a great one with internal PS, but there are many others out there too that I am not familiar with.

I just got a few in for beta testing. The first run is done and we just have to make sure the firmware was made properly. Just right around the corner, I promise.

I have a HUGE high power servo here just for this testing. I will update my website as I get specifics on just how much power it can take. It should take a good whopping servo.

The FXR runs very well with the cobalt motors, no worries.

Default 454's on for quicksand mini clod?

I got a grizzy mini-clod kit. It's awesome, but having issues with my tekin 45's interfering with the lower links. Just a couple questions.....

-How much shorter is the 454's than the standard 540's?

-Will either novack crawler esc & Fxr handle these 454's with 1500mah 11.1v 25c lipos?

-Is it possible to fit the 454's onto the clod by both using (400 to 540 adapter) and Thunder tech adapter together or need something different?

-I am trying to go for a clean look, don't really want to do extreme bending of the lower links just to clear the motor cans.

-Any other recommendations?

Hope you can help out, my Electronic Guru.

Default Sidewinder problem

Hi John,

Got a problem with my 1/10 sidewinder. When I power it up I get the initial beeps but not the secondary beeps that show its armed. I have steering response but no throttle response. At initial startup the red and yellow lights blink twice together then start blinking green. If i hit the throttle I get blinking red lights again, no responce. This has been a great esc up to this point having never given me any problems. Also I cannot get it to go into the programming mode. ????:?

Default FXR with 15/20/25T wind Torquemaster and 3S lipo

JRH,

Would running a 15 or 20 or 25T torquemaster and an FXR on a 3S lipo burn up the FXR? I think it is ok with the 2S (or is it?), but i wanted the 3S for more speed!

If the FXR cannot handle the 3S lipo with the 15/20/25T, i am assuming that your esc can?

hope this dont sound stupid but what is the diffrence between a handwound and a regular motor, I know handwounds are saposed to be better but i just want to know what the diffrence is? Im runnin the novak 55 turn with teh rooster crawler esc on an r2 trans, Im lookin for some more wheelspeed. Since im limited to a 7 cell nimh pack since thats all the rooster supports. So if you could point me in the right direction for what turn motor i could go with ? Thanks Sam
