there now the bullet plugs go to my bec! The big lead just runs the length of my chassis in my wraith. I used bigger leads comming off my main power line because I planned to do two BEC.

At the last event at Foster, I smoked my HH 27T Torquemaster and my HS 7955TG. The servo was new so I sent it in for repair and they replaced it free. Hard to beat that service.

I'm going to take the stuff over to my friends house Sunday and he's going to solder it for me.

After looking at the Traxxas plugs, there is no way two more wires will fit in there. I'm going to have to remove some of the insulation and solder them to the wires.

On a separate note, I'm not loving the look of melons with the smaller tires.

I have a TracPower TK-950

TowerHobbies.com | TKPR0950 TrakPower TK-950 Soldering Station

Very nice iron for the price. Also can't recommend a Mr Jig enough. Triples the speed and accuracy of your work.

this sh!t is overwhelming for me... which makes me very frustrated and angry at myself.
I swear, the last time I was trying to solder plugs on a br-xl, I almost called it quits and sold everything... I feel that way again just thinking about trying to solder these things on.

Honestly, a good solder station, a good jig and a little practice and it becomes simple. And you really should give up on Traxxas plugs and get on the Deans band Wagon.

I'd like to and I've thought about it a few times... but that would mean even more soldering
Right now, I'm totally frustrated with melons and I'm regretting buying Hera.

What problems are you having with Hera? Anything I can help with?

Hera is coming along nicely... aside from my soldering abilities.
I think she's going to be a strong competitor next season.
I am short a winch channel but I ran the last 2 seasons without one on Melons so...

I'm going to try and build a bec harness like WarTraders, I think I have this right...

The lipo plugs into the male deans
The esc plugs into the female deans
Since I bought 2 of the rx bypass adaptors, I do not have to worry about cutting any wires. (basically, like the diagram)
The servo will be powered from the bec
The rx will be powered by the esc, I do not need to remove the esc red wire that goes into the rx.

Question about the harness.
Could I have 3 female plugs on one end of the harness and it would not matter which one I plugged a bec or the esc into since they are all feeding off the same lipo (male end)?

WarTrade has 2 bec's going into 1 set of bullet plugs, but if his 1 set of bullet plugs was 2 deans (1 for each bec) could he plug the esc into one of them and the 2nd bec male dean into what is currently his esc plug?

Well, if you need help and don't mind the trip, we can change all your battery connectors and ESCs over pretty quid and mount up your BECs however you want them. Just let me know, I am here all weekend.

forgot to add that we eliminated the scale point minimum as well.

you need to know your scale points at the time of the event, if you dont, you dont get anything. if you have them updated on the scale points thread you can always smart phone it at the time of the event, but it shouldnt be up to the guy tallying up the scores to search rcc for your scale points.

so again, no minimum scale points and you need to know them at the time of the event.

afaik, we still dont have a definite max track-width agreed upon for c2...

the talk was 10", but i think that may be just a scootch too narrow... i'd like to have the other guys mount up what they want to run and see what their widths are before we commit to a width.

the setup on timmy in the pic has a track width at 10 3/16. i dont plan on running the wider motoworks wheels that are in the pic, so i'm pretty sure i'll be around 10". all the same it doesnt seem like its too wide.

I used to feel the same way could not solder worth a crap (MIG welder on Aluminum by trade) so you can only imagine how i felt. I almost gave up then i got a HACO 936 about $79.00 and BINGO with the help of good solder, flux, and good CLEAN iron with some practice Deans & Motors are getting easier and easier. Don't forget to TIN your Iron & wires or motor posts.
I also think that it was very cool of Neal to help out.

Also be careful with flux. It is VERY seldom needed in electronics. Tin your posts and wires then melt them together with little or no extra solder needed. I was a certified micro miniature repairman in the Navy and when soldering to a PC board, flux was used to help the wires adhere to the copped strips. But as most of the stuff we work with is an allow or plated, the flux really serves no purpose and when melting, can just cause a mess.

I second that. Flux just annoys me. Tin everything right and then just let the two pieces flow together without adding more solder.

Edit: And remember the solder will flow toward the heat so put the iron on the side you want to flow toward.
