If I ever get my 92' Toyota Pickup done, I expect no less than 15mpg out of that. Small block ford, big heads & cam, etc, etc. 350hp ish Yeah, I'm about 14-16 with my 98' 4runner but, its not lifted with big tires either. |

| Re: NIRC. Chit Chat They put V8's in the 4Runners...why couldn't they offer it in the tacoma??? That kinda sucks but oh well. Can you imagine how long it would take for the $$ saved via better mileage to pay for the conversion? Ha. It would be cool as hell though.

I am running JConcepts Subcultures on the Slash and AKA Wishbones on the SC10. AKA Rebars work well as do JConcepts Bar Codes. I hear Double Dees to well also. Pro-Line Suburbs should be good inside too.

I run the suburbs inside because thats what I have. The work well. For outside I have a new tire called dboots nanobytes. They are supposed to do well on the carpet. You have to modify some inside ribbing on the tire and run an 1/8 proline foam. Its a frankenstein setup but, Shawn.. The owner dude at LITH recommended them to me.

My tires worked well inside and I had too much traction outside.

The end result is the square lug pins with interrupted bars (Double Dees, Subcultures) work well but the top tire indoors seem to be the semi slicks like the Wishbones/Rebars/Suburbs/Bar codes when the track is fresh. At the moment it is a bit rough inside as all the racing is outdoors. They will probably close the indoor track soon for a week to do a rebuild then the semi slicks will tear it up.

Oh yeah... I heard LITH will be having a new indoor layout soon! I hope its ready this weekend. I'm excited to run it. As far as tires go.. I just loosely follow what other people say work and pick one of them to try. I don't feel like I'll ever really know what tire works best until I compare them for myself. You have to consider your driving style as well. Different tires do different things. Different drivers do different things. If your coming into a corner real hot and you have to brake hard and end up unloading the rear end around the corner, I'm sure theres a tire that works better for that. If you try to take clean lines, and go with the "slow is fast" way of driving, Theres probably a tire for that. Etc, etc. there are a lot of variables. When someone says for example "a proline suburbs work good on hard pack clay" i'm sure that is just a generalization. Meaning, that specific tire works well on that specific type of track. Not much else is accounted for. If we're talking about LITH indoor track specifically, I don't think any of us know what really works best. Its sorta of a dirty, crumby, cracky, dusty old track right now.. Soon, when they re-do it and its fresh damp clay, a different tire might work better. Ok, That went on too long.. Sorry for the boring read. Its something to consider/ponder. Edit: looks like Neil covered some of this as well. Last edited by Die-Laughing; 08-14-2012 at 04:53 PM. |

lol, Rick is right tho, the tire that works best is the tire that works best for you. My driving style (when I get it back under control) is hard in to corners, hard out, Double/Single the triple and and try to keep the "U"s tight. My biggest problem when I am in practice, is resisting the urge to nail it on the straights and overpower the slide.
