I'd like to do something like this. It would be pretty easy to copy. Just need the currie XR tubes to come out!

what does "more purpose built" mean? I'd say that the SR-Wraith is purpose built, isn't it? Unless light is the new heavy and that rig is too heavy..

I need to get making some XR currie tubes and some 1.55 beadlocks.. we need those things! all of us!

MF, the wraith curries will come around again soon I'm sure. You could start a wanted ad for some. Nobody ever listens when I say "start a wanted ad".. there are probably 20 people out there with axles on the shelf.. and 1 of them is willing to part with them I bet. Or, at least you might get a tip from someone on where you can find them or who might have some.

yeah lighter. i dunno... its heavy and that helps on some things, but on others its a huge pita.

im not gonna bail on it yet, i love the rig. but i miss they way my old wraith was. light and nimble.

i can see the benifit of an uber low 1st gear, but my wraith and timmy both do fine with a single speed.

Yeah... I know what you mean. Its a valid point, i.e. what are you building? An all around semi-go-fast semi-go-slow vehicle? Or a vehicle built to do TTC/G6 style events.

You probably don't really need 2nd gear for the later at all, especially with the brushless motors. What you do need especially for the G6 is easy battery replacement, and if targeted towards G6 too ability to run small or larger batteries.

I.e. the Clod is not a G6 at all; it can only run max of a single 1300mah and its a PITA to swap the battery in which is an issue with G6s.

Maybe I'll just go back to single-speed for the Class 3 and use the 2-speed in the monster truck.
