Make a new plate that fits between the rails & clears the tabs that a scx10 trans can bolt to. It shouldn't be to difficult.. 4 drill holes for the trans, 4 tapped holes for rail mounting, some grinding to shape & clear tabs. Got any material or tools?

That might work but will raise the cog of the Axial trans about an inch.
So, you don't think I should modify the chassis?

Not really. I still need to get a work bench and a vice!
I did just get a new to me Makita drill though.

If you're seriously considering selling it, I wouldn't change the trans. That thing is built really well. If you keep it, hack away!

So, you want a skid plate that drops down to hold an axial trans? What I said would just put it where its supposed to be. I think an axial trans sitting an inch higher than a summit trans has a better COG anyways.

I have this thing. Its not designed for axial rails but, it might work. It'll drop it down, then you can drill 4 holes to mount trans and drill 4 holes to mount thru the rails with nuts & bolts. I dont know.

dont hack it up just to get it to work for a weekend... i would go ahead and sell that thing as-is and true to the original build and get something different.

I had his trail chassis, it is REAL nice, but ended up to long front and rear for my Tamiya EB which the build is based around. Traded for an SCX10 Dingo chassis, tranny, CMS, and links. I still was on the short end but needed the chassis and had no other build planned that the MZ would have worked for.

I like Sky Lipo. I run 5000mah 40c 2s packs for racing. 2s & 3s packs for sunday racing/bashing. Whatever I got. I like a 40c minimum.

These guys like the Gforce stuff from what I've seen.

i got some gforce 2s hardcases from valuehobby, i forget the mah but they are 4500 or 5000 or something like that.

you dont need hardcase lipos unless you are racing. for just playing at the track you can use whatever you want.

I have been running True RC for a few years but since I really don't compete I don't know how it would work.

You don't need no stinkin' sponsor.. True R/C, Shmue R/C...

Packs are cheap as far as I'm concerned.. Try one of the brands we mentioned.. They are chinese just like your other batteries just, different sticker.. so, they should work fine.

Well the price of sponsor is nice.

Is the one in that link the right one Rick?

Saydee, yes. They don't come with Deans, you have to solder your own. Thats the only sucky part but, I think it's worth it. Trey has a couple Sky Lipo's and he says they are his best batteries. And he's from Texas.

Edit: another thing about those sky lipo packs.. They have a relly fat wire size. They can be a pain to solder with just rosin core.. You might want to have some extra flux handy, liquid, paste..whatever. But, sometimes I have a hard time unless I use extra flux. So, if soldering is a turn-off then go with a different brand.
