The battery situation has yet to me 100% decided. Running the BTA limits the amount of room I have on the front links.

Ya im in the same situation. I dont have much room and was just curious if that was going to be safe for lipos there, thats why I ask.

Safe, yeah I wasn't worried about that. A battery on the front of an AX-10 is more vulnerable than that thing.

I would think it will help with balancing weight of the motor.

yea that thing is huge

4xford has some like 350's I think that are perfect for one course
very small too

and it may balance the chassis a bit since the motor hangs out
but that is still wieght that could be someplace else and lower.
I would put a piece of lexan on the front lowers and place it there
but thats where I put it now.

that or maybe on the rear lowers.

but the battery shelby has you could put just about anywhere
mine are 800's

It's just a little 800 2s. It's not that big!

I talked to Jason at MaxAmps today about getting some 430's but just haven't decided what to go with.

You should have plenty of room on the front links even w/ the BTA. Austin, isn't that the same one your running?. My buddy is running a GC2 w/ that same battery also, on the front links w/ a 645 up front

Don't you think if I had room it would be there? It's not like having a normal servo there where you can just push it against the back of it. You need clearance. After allowing clearance I am almost against the spur gear. Too close for comfort.

Currently that is where the Mongoose is. I don't think the Mongoose would fit up front but it is something I am thinking about trying.

mount the esc under the back chassis brace, i have mine there. that should give you the room you need to mount the battery on the back links.

If you flipped the trans, so the spur is facing the rear, then you'll have what you need for sure. Just giving options. I believe Austin and Trace both run their trans that way.
