deans is the fuse... when it gets hot it melts. and could short. for crawling deans is ok. for the bashers and racers.. just use anything besides a star or deans. deans get loose anyway.

Well shit, I guess I can hope that it doesn't melt. If anything happens I guess I'll buy those parts and put it back to stock.

here is last sundays race at THE TRACK for THE SERIES. I qualified 8th due to not making it past lap 2 first qual. I started in eighth, moved up to 4th, drove it too hard, traction roll.. blah blah blah. I had fun. finished 7th. its the white truck. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_e5U_LegEuw

Thanks for sharing cm9000!!! That was awesome to watch but let's be honest here, traction roll?? ..... Did you fill your front diff with silicone oil?? Also what weight shock oil you running?? Ride height??That thing was all over the place, looked like it was 2wd.. Also what tires you running??

just 50wt shock oil in front enough to lube it. 30k center. stock springs. out of the box ride height. panther boa's (big lug style pin) on a hard surface. I need to find a tire with even less traction. like someone said before this truck needs to slide around the damn corners. that track was hard packed brown cement basically. the blue groove was just from that single day... this truck handles well in my hands. I let a few have a go at it and they.. well.. I have a few things to fix Friday before I go on Saturday to a better and true 10th scale track. (10ft wide) the one you saw in the video.. well 6-8 ft at most.

I absolutely love the way this truck drives. I just need to find a way to calm my ****lin nerves when I beat other trucks with this thing. I get so worked up I drive it harder and brake later and "roll" it. gotta admit.. im not racing it to win with it. im racing it to have the most fun with it.

oh.. 37.5 in front shocks. ride height.. eh idk. I never set it. I just make the dogbones parallel to the ground. and match the rear.

Yeah to me suspension seemed a bit soft, stock springs are perfect for it. The whole dog bones straight doesn't really apply to this particular RC because of the actual wheel travel, it's more based like real trucks where you want to run certain droop and bump figures. I can tell you filled the diffs up with oil because of how it was handling. Mine did the same and that's why I went back to grease, you want the 4x4 to work for you not make it 2wd. Nevertheless as long as your happy with it that's all that matters, again thanks for sharing I really enjoyed watching, looks like a blast!!! I will have to get some tires and find a track around me to give this a go, I tried indoor clay track but dint have the right tires, i don't even know if they make 2.2/3" clay tires. I think out door track would be much better for this truck tho. Gotta find a local outdoor track and give this a go!!!

2.2/3.0 clay tires exist. I like to use proline prime's and I think id lose steering if I used grease in the front diff. off power steering is nice.

Primes are for high traction in my area, my local clay track is low-med bite. I like electrons as my preferred, dirt webs as my second and aka cross link as my tird for my local track conditions.

Don't beat yourself up bro, I still use deans. The only deans style connectors that have failed me are the counterfeits. All of my "official" deans have held up great. Im using a shorty counterfeit deans to ec3 adapter on mine and have been using 3s power and no issues whatsoever.. So run it till it breaks.. That's my opinion.

Btw, thanks for taking time to try to help others! That's what this hobby should be about! Helping others and bringing people together!

I guess I just have seen to many 1/8th scale buggies turn off or get the deans to hot and short the battery out from racing. deans get loose overtime anyway. well they did for me. use what you want.

I think it's funny all the bearings that are replacement parts aren't the ones that come in the truck rtr...

A stiffer front diff reduces cornering grip when coasting.

I hope they picked some good parts to upgrade. Though to be honest, I'm having a tough time thinking of any parts on this particular truck that I'd want to upgrade anyway. Aluminum shocks would be nice, I suppose aluminum upper links would be nice too, the rest works fine as-is.
