Silly question maybe... What motor pinion are you guys using? I'm assembling one at the moment but noticed this "Module 06" referred to spur and pinion. All my previous stuff is in pitch 32 and 48, p32 is obviously huge, p48 is similar enough to mesh but it's visibly not the correct one, so I guess they are not compatible. Comments? A few pages back I read comments about noisy tranny, could it be that you too are using the wrong pinion? Anyway my personal thought, MST should have sent a correct pinion together with the kit! It's quite unnerving to discover you have to make another order just for a pinion!! |

Metric 48p.....those of us with Tamiya's are very familiar. Robinson racing makes them.

It's metric 0.6. Lots of cheap chinese cars run them as well. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

Thanks for the info The only models I have from Tamiya are the old 3speed Blazer, Bruiser and Mounty, so no pinion to borrow Will go with Robinson's, then. Honestly I'm having mixed feelings with this CFX-W, generally looks good but some details give me the impression of poor reliability. Take the axleshafts coming out from portals, where hexes and wheels bolt on. Those shafts are kept inside the portal gear box from a single tiny E-clip, all it takes is some wear and it could easily pop out of the seat and the wheel and shaft will happily separate from the running rig, much like common breakage on rear Dana 35 on Jeeps and Cherokees. Having to trust only that tiny E clip doesn't seem a well thought solution... Also it's a poor decision for a model of this price having all metal shielded bearings and not rubber, as well all the ballends in plastic instead of steel. |

IIRC Tamiya is (or at least used to) run module gear pitch in their cars, not true 32 pitch?

Thanks for verification, the proper gears will run way quieter and smoother! I ran Traxxas module spur with Robinson Racing 32 pitch pinion in my Wraith because everybody said it would work...noisy so I quickly swapped gears and much quieter. |

Mine came with an MST 14 tooth pinion from AsiaTees. No issue with noise. Sent from my phone because mail is so 1990 |

Tires are replica of Nitto Extreme Mud Grapplers http://m.nittotire.com/light-truck-t...ht-truck-tire/ Nitto is part of Toyo tires corp., maybe it was easier for MST to get licenses from Japan, or maybe they just wanted an offroad tire nobody had yet replicated They looks really good and side lettering apart are a quite perfect replica of the 1:1 counterparts. They are not very soft though, good for general use but sure no race compound Last edited by rockspider; 03-05-2017 at 10:03 AM. |

Yeah I wasn't very impressed with them. Way too firm. Maybe with softer foams and wear they might improve. But I doubt it. Sent from my SM-G930F using Tapatalk |

CMS adventure has begun. I have the servo mounted to the chassis. Waiting on parts to finish the pan hard so I can test it under power. Sent from my phone because mail is so 1990 |

Good work on the CMS setup! I just pulled the trigger on one of these... RCMart's free shipping was just too tempting to pass up! |

Oh goodness, this is simply 8 pages of pure temptation. I've had my SCX10 II for just a couple of months and now I'm talking myself into this one as well. |

More done on this and happy with the results. A little of this and a little of that and I have a solution that is testable without looking cobbled together. No bump steer and the geometry looks right. Sent from my phone because mail is so 1990 |

Sweet panhard mount! I've never had good luck with the servo arm swinging that way, stand the servo up and let it work like a 1:1 pitman arm, way better steering and no 'jacking' of chassis while steering. |
