A link to which? The receivers and transmitters are available on eBay

Default RC4WDs New Micro Crawler

Hi everybody I thing someone has been listen our prayers http://store.rc4wd.com/R5-118-Mini-T...V2_p_5805.html

It seems that the tranny fits directly to the chasis
And the motor seems pretty good for this and any other mini crawler projects.

Where the heck can I find 80p pinion gears?! I think this truck would be great for my kid around the house (because I'd want to use it too) as well as some limited outdoor time, but I like the idea of gearing down a couple of teeth. Thanks for any suggestions!

so i got the v2 transmission which is a great upgrade on the stock, but my esc smoked. i wanna continue running the new transmission and motor, can i just use another cheap esc and an rx and hook it up? any recommendations for an esc which i could use for the existing v2 motor?

after reading for ideas through this thread i put my trekker esc in. turns out my gelande steering servo has also fried. anyone got a recommendation for a steering servo upgrade?

The r5 original tranny it’s all metal but it was trash
The new one it’s a huge improvement but anyway i prefer for sloooooow crawling the doble motor tranny

I wouldn't say it's trash. It looks great and is nicely made, it's just geared to highly. It would make a great transfer case though.

Does the double motor set up work better on descents? The r5 v2 is either full speed or endo going down hills

That's because of the horrible ESC not the transmission. The ESC is either stop or go with nothing in between. A better ESC and receiver would be a noticeable improvement.

I upgraded mine with a Tekin B1R - some first footage:

And it drives much better downhill than the ambush..

Decided to order the new Jeep and Bronco bodies, as well as an interior for my other D90 body that I want to hack up some day. Also got new Wrangler MT-Rs and decided to get the new Milestar Patagonias MT tires, along with two new sets of stock rc4wd steelies.

Then I replaced my cheap hobbywing 1060 ESC for the AWESOME hobbywing 1080, with all the different possible settings and programming card. This thing is sooo smooth all around, but it me took awhile to finally pinpoint dialing the drag brake in.(didnt want it to be maxed when a much lower setting is plenty)

Been tinkering and playing with it recently, figured id bump the thread to keep it alive.

I just picked one of these up for my sons birthday which is today .

I opened it up, installed batteries and made it ready so when he opens it later today he can use it asap.

I love the scale looks and quality.. however having to remove the 4 screws to access power switch is a bit much? Also haven't quite figured out where to put the battery lead to charge it later... i dont want to unscrew the shell each time..

Anyone got some tips?

I have a d90 and put a 1000mah battery in for a little longer run time and took the interior out (for now) to get to the battery plug thru the window.
