Hey guys, Camaron here known as LCS on fellow RC boards. Been in rc for awhile and show no signs of slowing. I crawl, race and bash. My crawling rig of choice at the moment is my modded TLT-1. I live in Fitzgerald, GA and far as I know I am the only one in this pathetic town that even knows RC exist. Great board and look foward to spending more time here.

Hey Ya'll. I'm Dave from San Jo and I have been crawling for sometime. Both in the fullsize world on the Rubicon, Fordyce and my favorite trail Barrett Lake in my CJ7. I've crawled a bit in the scale world with my Wild Willy 2. It doesn't climb for sh!@t but with it locked up and Masher 2000's with no foams it does ok. I'm stepping up now though with a still in box TXT. After I get some more work done on the 1:1 crawler I'll start the build process on the TXT. Great board and see ya on the rocks both big and little.

Texan here....new to RC's, but not 4-wheeling. Personally...I think this is a great concept (rccrawlers), and I can't wait to save up some money to get involved in it. I've already started planning out a rock garden in the backyard...less grass to mow if I get it my way

I personally enjoy fabrication, and I can't wait to get my hands dirty working on a scaled down Electric rig. I still can't figure out how I'm going to get to use my favorite tool, my Sawzall, on this small of a rig though....hmmmm.

Here's a picture of my other "toy"....but it's gotten so expensive that I really am excited about scaling down .

I'm sure I'll be asking lots of questions....so I'll just apologize up front. Woohoo...a new hobbie!!!

Hi All,

I've been lurking on this site for a while, just now registered. This is my first post.

I've been into rockcrawling for about 6 years. My first rig was a '87 Suzuki Samurai. I locked, lifted and geared it and beat the crap out of it 'til last year when I sold it to fund building a big block '75 Nova.

I quickly lost interest in the Nova project and sold it before it was finished

June of '03 I bought a '85 Toyota Xtracab 4x4. One year and $6000 later it looks like this. (Getting a coat of Lime Green paint this weekend ) It has dual transfer cases, Detroit locked 4.88:1 diffs, all the usual 'Yota crawler stuff riding on 36" Swamper IROK's.

I stumbled across this site a few weeks ago and just reading the articles and looking at the pictures of some of the rigs you guys have built has been enough to hook me! I was into R/C off-road racing when I was 14-15 years old, so I'm not a newbie to R/C. I've had Tamiya on and off road cars and RC10's. I want to build a R/C crawler. After doing a lot of reading, I think the best kit to get me started is the TXT-1. I saw pictures a out-of-the-box stock TXT flexing like mad on a pile of firewood. So I'm thinking build it stock, get used to driving it first then start with the modifications.
I'll be around, doing more lurking and reading than posting. I'm gonna try to not ask something stupid that's been covered a hundred times.

EDIT: Ordered a TXT-1 from Tower today (7/1).

EDIT2: Updated the pic of my 1:1 'crawler and received my TXT today. (7/8 ) ;)

w00t

hey everyone, my names ken, and im an RCaholic.

i got out of it when i was a kid. a few weeks ago a friend sold me his RC10GT and im hooked like a fish all over again. so now its off to see what kind of damage i can do building my own crawler (definitely NOT from scratch for a while) and ripping up small pieces of the connecticut country side.

i plan on buying a few RCs over the next several months. i have my nitro stadium truck, and i was going to get an electric stadium truck too, which i still might. but it will get bumped back for an RTR monster truck. i smell a clod in my future perhaps. oh, and an Xmod supra

Hi whats up, I have been into Rc's for a while. I used to race off road and of course always played with Rc cars and trucks.

I currently put together a kit that I have had for a while. I built an HPI RS4MT. I know crazy huh. Well any way it works good for a 2.2 crawler.

What I did
Modified stock suspension for flex
Losi XXT rear shock on front
Losi XXT front shocks in rear relocated
RR racing ball diffs converted to spools
Masher 2000s on Traxxas stampede fronts on thick hex drives.
Airtronics 94157 servo
Novak Rooster
Koyoso 540 planetary 1:75 gear down unit

I run a Fj40 body on custom mounts. It looks real close to scale.
The crazy thing is it actually works well. I would like to hook up with the Oregon guys I seen on a 4X4 site I frequent.

Edit 12/29/05: man what was I thinking! well any, I have graduated to a full blown TXT tuber. Boyer Chassis, e-max tranny, lst tires, rock rings, bla bla bla.

The Jeep in the avatar was a TLT I built and ran for awhile.
