The Rey definitely has the advantage over the Yeti when stock, b/c of the center diff, centered rear axle, chassis and power system. Losi knows what they're doing, and they wouldn't have built it if they didn't. That's also why they'll probably have kit versions someday. Vaterra did, why wouldn't Losi? Also, Losi already has some of its own aluminum aftermarket parts (links, steering, knuckles +), and if aftermarket companies realize that this is an actual competitor (which they did with the Ascender and TH), they'll catch up soon.

I'm considering this as a replacement to my Pede, after briefly thinking about the Yeti. My friend's Yeti is a perfect example of how much it sucks stock, and I know it has potential, but the Rock Rey will be leagues better for less money.

lol. If you look back to post #34, what I was doing was pointing out the problems with a poll such as this, that we really don't make such comparisons in the real world, that this is not an apples-to-apples comparison. The score is simply a tire and body package on a slower rock racer/crawler, and the Rey is a (fast-but-nose-heavy) buggy with a truck body on it.

Polls like this are interesting, but an apple-to-apple comparison it is not.

Seeing as this is posted in crawling forum, how many here think the Rock Rey will do well as a crawler?

So if we are all driving similar nose-heavy trucks on the same course at the same time, how does that get to 'no jumps'?

lol. Now who is on drugs here? You misrepresent something that I have not said, change the context, and leave me wondering...

Following your lead: in the context of U4RC racing, you have these "rules" that don't allow you to run what you want. It's more about scale appearances than vehicle performance.

Also, has it occurred to you that the design of U4RC courses are intended be challenging?

If you are gonna try and fire back a comment to someone should probabaly make sure it's the right person. So from what I understand is since the Yeti and rock Rey are meant to be scale it doesn't matter if it's nose heavy because it's not a fis race truck? No need to try and improve performance?

Will do - and apologies. It does have some explanatory power though.

Was this directed at me? I don't recall saying anything like this.

If you are unfamiliar with U4RC, the rules are right here:

Maybe I need to be drinking to make sense of that. Why don't you try again tomorrow, and be a bit more specific about what you are try to get at?

Yikes... both of these trucks are sounding terrible! What about a Tekno 410.3 with some 2.2s on it? I know it won't crawl. But it might "crawl" and rock race as well as a Yeti. It will definitely handle better. And the Tekno comes with all the upgrades you need in the box... This is a crawler forum. These two RCs are rock racers—but will either RC be any better than a quality 4 X 4, full independent suspension RC with large tires? I mean the diffs can be tuned for less slip... the clearance is not that dissimilar. Anyone? I don't want a lemon. Got the Bomber. Like it... but it is no Wraith. And if one is getting away from solid axles—why not go all the way?
