Default Yeti vs Rock Rey

I bought the Losi rear shock mount, rear link mounts (front and rear), aluminum bellcranks, servo mount and Metal Concepts 3rd member. I thought these were the weakest links although the RR had a much improved rear axle over the BR with better gearing to help with torque twist. I also went with Proline power strokes as I really did not like how sticky the stickers were. It's still in pieces as I'm waiting on some custom links from JEC so I can't comment on how well they worked out...... yet.

Also dropped in a Protek 170TBL. The stock servo is way too slow for me.

Did something broke or just in case? Your planned upgrades Sound like upgrade a Yeti. Have no plan to buy a RR love my yeti. but reading the specs of the RR i thought it doesn't need one, other than a Yeti.

I was assuming he meant the RR. Nothing broke, I just can't leave anything alone. I love my Yeti but the RR is in a different league.

i know what u mean can't leave things alone myself.
Very hard to compare, they look close, but different markets. Even the avc i guess makes a hugh difference.

I don't know about AVC, usually disable it. In my opinion they are in the exact same markets. Probably the only 2 that are right now.

Lots of them will, but not all. Go on Losi's website and look at the parts break down for your Rock Rey, many of them will say "Baja Rey" in the description... those parts are shared between both models. There have been some mid-production changes where the part number remained the same, but the actual part on the Rock Rey has been updated, the rear axle housing for example.

While there is overlap, they do seem quite distinct to me. At least until I see a bunch of people using their baja/rock reys for crawling.

Do you see a lot of people using the Yeti as a crawler? Terrible decision if they are. They are both IFS, live rear rock racers, and they do that fairly well out of the box. Try to get a either to crawl doesn't make much sense to me at all.

Is it a crawler ? No.
Can it crawl ? Yes, just has a huge center skid to hang up, great for mixture of trailing and rocks. I'm also running a locker up front

Hang up and Drive

Anything "can" crawl. Dedicating it as a crawler is is absurd. My Tekno SCT410 would crawl better then my Yeti if I locked the diffs.

Who suggested dedicating it as a crawler?

When I first got my yeti score, I put some silly putty in the front diff to see if it would crawl, and it exceeded my expectations. And it did this for an hour on the RTR electronics. On 3s.

And it still does a stable 30+ mph on the flats. Fast enough for this old guy.

Yes, on youtube. 'Crawling', to be more precise.

Perhaps the need to conform differs among individuals.

I guess it only has to make sense to those doing it.

I was only commenting that I have not seen the any crawling being done with the baja rey so far. Perhaps with the rrey we will see some examples.

Default Yeti vs Rock Rey

My Tekno has better steering, better suspension travel, more tuning options, lower CG, zero torque twist, narrower chassis and is infinity more durable. Not sure how you would think it wouldn't be. And with a wheelbase of 12.7 inches and width of a minimum 11.6 it fits the bill pretty nicely. Only thing it would need are some custom tires to fit the 2.2/3.0 wheels to clear the knuckles. I don't think it would be legal to compete with in any way though.

Sorry to get off topic.
