Measure it, is it over 4 3/16 wide at the very back? It is a dove tail it can only be 2/3 narrower than the widest part of the cab, at least that's how I read the new rule.

This new rule is gonna Chase a lot of people away.... Esentially this rule is gonna make people build all new rigs. Money is tight and I don't see a lot of people being able to afford building new rigs. Kinda bs if you ask me....

the 2/3's= dovetail never changed for C2 that was how it was last year. so if it was legal last year it still is this year.

--Correction it was only noted on the front.

Yup.. only Tue front. Which I can understand. But like I stated before. This rear 2/3 rule makes a lot of rigs out of spec. I'm not just bitching because I just spent a ton of money building it, to just finish it and have it now not be in spec. And for what reason was this rule changed? What's it supposed to accomplish???

Most of the revisions were to clean up capabilities in the classes.

C3 obviously to limit the 1/12 scale bodies...

C2 to keep the performance in check. You are already getting points for the full hardbody a dovetail like you have keeps that bodywork from being a liability aside from weight.

How much would it cost for a cut off wheel to cut the back tube?

How much will it cost to braze/weld a .5/1" tube to spread the back?

I can understand being frustrated if it's now out of spec, but who says you need to build a whole new rig?

Looks to me that if you made that tube work, it wouldn't cost a dime to fix.

i agree with others about tube bumpers. i would just get rid of points for them since its way too easy to cheese out and exploit it for a couple easy points by just bolting tubes to the fenders and not taking the time to make it look scale.

besides that, imho tube fenders attached to the chassis are more exo in my eyes.

does a stock wraith even fit within that rule? im at work or else i'd measure...
fwiw, when i read the new rules i also read the width as 1.25 per side and not .625.

Well i had to pay someone to braze the nuts on to hold the bed sides on, cost of steel and having to buy a new tailgate set because the one I've got is cut down for the dove tail. Not everyone has a lot of money to accomplish redoing things. I'll have to make new tube Fenders and side rails. All of which is MIG welded and flows properly with the rest of the tube work. Adding extra to spread it out would look like shit. And I'd also have to buy a new bed set because these are shortened to meet the back of the frame specific. I'm not the only one screwed by this. How many chassis are out there that people have paid good hard earned money for that are now not legal because they are a truggy or dove tailed. You guys gotta think about that stuff. I'm just bitching because its a dumb rule to change. I can completely understand the 2/3 rule for the front, but the rule for the rear is Effing lots of people. Not just me. I still don't see how making it 2/3 is hurting the rig any more than it was before.

Also are you counting the tube Fenders as part of the measurement for the rear? Or just the body panels?

Outside of panel to outside of panel. What does your bed measure at the front and back?

With a dually, I assume that would be the tread of the outside tire?

• The tread of the tires cannot extend outside of the wheel wells more then 1/2 of the tread width, flairs can be added to reach min. spec.

I'll be able to measure after work.

I'm mainly trying to get the committee to understand this rule puts hundreds of rigs out of spec... Screwing lots of people....

I consider any tubing that protects a fender (or a typical Jeep tuber fender) a tube fender.

I seriously doubt it's hundreds, but we are willing to listen to arguments.

Yes, in Class 1 this would be the outer tire.

Ok, think about it this way, how many chassis builders that are venders here? Quite a few, plus the people that make their own. Also the people that aren't on rcc but this rule effects them at their local club. I'm sure there are a couple hundred rigs this specific rule deems out of spec. Just the sheer number of people in the rc crawling world. What's the average price for a truggy chassis new? 3-400$. Idk about you but not everyone has the ability to re work the metal to get their rig back in spec, or have the money to pay someone to do it for them if they can't themselves. Thus adding even more money they have to front just to make their rig legal. I still don't see how adding .5 in or so to the rule hurts the rig. To be honest. So why adjust the rule?
I can see the rule saying something like " rear tube work cannot be narrowed shorter than 3" or the width the the stock frame rails." That would keep people from making a triangle out of the rear of the rig.
All I ask is that you seriously re consider that specific rule. All the others really don't screw up a ton of c2 rigs. Which in my area is the majority of what people run and build.
